Natsu got back home just in time. A couple minutes later, there was a knock heard at the door. He jumped off the couch and went to answer. When he opened the door, a blonde was standing there.

"Hello, blondie."

"Hey Natsu."

"What has attracted you to the magnificent Dragneel mansion?"

"Actually, you. May I come in?"

"Ohh sure, sure" he said moving away from the entrance.

"You have a nice house."

"I know. Not much my type, but I like it. Now, would you like something to drink? Perhaps some bourbon?"

"No, no thank you."

"Well, I would." He headed for the wine cabinet and pulled out a fancy glass bottle with bourbon.

"So how is it that I attracted you here?"

"My friend told me to take chances, so thats what im doing."

"Mm. I like that."

"I was thinking, maybe, we vould go the party later tonight. Together."

"A party? I havent gone to one of those in forever. Literally."

"Come with me then. It'll be fun."

"Mm. Okay. But don't go being naughty, eh?"

"Nope. Just friends going to a party."

"Just friends? Ouch. Well this guy is going to go get..well im already handsome, so im just gonna go get even better. Ciao amore" he said waving and walking upstairs, leaving Lucy all alone. She decided to excuse herself and go get ready.

On her way back home, she ran into the person she was trying to avoid. Jellal. They bumped into each other and now were forced to talk.

"Hey, Jellal."

"Uh..hi Lucy.

"Um... how have you been?"

"I..I..I'm good. You?"

"Jellal, dont lie to me. Please."

"Well what do you want me to say? I'm so hurt and in pain because you left and said you needed time. Now im hear all sad and depressed because I suffered too, but apparently, you didnt care."

Lucy stood there. Jellal just kept walking in the cold. Ever since they broke up, it was always akward between them. Jellal never said a thing to her and if they saw each other, he always had this look of dissapointment in his eyes. It wasn't Lucy's fault that her parents had died and she was having a hard time. Why couldnt he just understand?

She opened the door and went straight to her room. She dropped her things and herself on the bed, staring at the ceiling. Thinking about Natsu was a constant thing now. He was always on her mind. And the same went the other way. He always thought of Lucy. She was the only thing he thought about. But Lucy thought there was something off about him. He seemed...different. She decided to ignore it and take a quick shower. After all, what can't some warm water and singing do?

At around 7, Natsu showed up at Lucys door. He wore a black leather jacket, black shirt, black jeans, and black boots. He still looked hot. She wore some dark denim jeans, light brown boots, a purple shirt, and a dark brown sweater. They left the house and headed for the party.

As they got there, lots of people were already waisted and embarrasing themselfs unconsciously. It was quite funny for Natsu. They walked towards the table with drinks and got a beer each. Natsu, noticing that Lucy was struggling to open her bottle, offered to help and popped the cap without trouble. He had super strength,  but anybody could do that. They walked into a trail in the woods where more people hung out, smoking and drinking. They crossed a small bridge that led back to the party and stayed there talking.

"So tell me, is it really hard to get over death?"

"Well, depends on who you are. Your personality. It hits some people very hard. It still hits but to some people more. They suffer more. For example, Gajeel. Ever since our parents died, he smokes all the time. Hes killing himself but no matter what I tell him, he wont listen."

"Sounds like you need a little help from...the teen whisperer."

"Ohh really? And who could that be?"

"You're looking at him."

"You can concince him to stop smoking? Really?"

"You'd be surprised."

"That's very hard right now."

"Mm. How much do you wanna bet?"

"I would bet you a billion dollars on that sir."

"Mm. We'll see about that."

Lucy blushed and turned around to hide her face. As she did, she saw Gajeel walking very drunkenly into the forest. She stared as he trailed off, then looked back at Natsu and said "I need to go handle that."

"Oh, let me help."

"I wont need it."

"You sure?"

"Believe me. You dont wanna be there when I kill him."

She walked away, following Gajeel into the dark woods. Natsu smiled at her cuteness. He went back to the crowd to get another beer when he bumped into Levy. Whenever they made contact, she got this strange feeling. A sensation. A vibe. She stared at Natsu blankly, wondering why she had gotten that vision. She quickly apologized and walked away. Natsu stared as she walked with her friends some place else. Little did he know, he was going to be in lots of trouble.

Back in the forest, Lucy tried to catch up with Gajeel.

"Gajeel, stop walking so fast. We need to go back to the party. If the police find you and see that youre drunk, what will they say about aunt Aquarious?"

"I dont care, okay? I couldn't care less about everything. Our parents are dead and our lifes are horrible now. I remember when we were small and they would take us to school. Mom always gave us so many kisses. She wouldnt let us go and she always held us up by the car. It was embarrasing and I hated her for doing that. Now, I wish she were here and kiss me so much, id get annoyed. And dad. He always played baseball with me in the backyard. He was a little serious sometimes, but I guess thats what being a surgeon does to you. I understood though. Our family camping trips up at our house in the lake. Those are some of my favorite memories. Mom telling us stories by the fire in the chimney. When we fished and when we caught something, we showed it to mom and she would cheer for us. And her jokes. They were the stupidest jokes ever, but they were also the best. I mean, dont you miss that, Lucy? How can you be so happy? Ive tried so much and it just doesnt work for me."

"Of course I miss her and dad. But thats the thing. You dont try. You get high and you find a shortcut. But that shortcut only lasts so long. When the trip is over you keep going because its your shortcut. But youre not trying to move on. I try. I miss mom and dad and I understand you, but what you are doing isnt the right way to get over this. Gajeel, im really sorry this had to happen to us, but things happen for a reason. I love you, Gajeel. You still have me here. I'm not leaving. Ever."

"Promise?"

"Promise."
