Why? Why does he have to go here? Out of all the schools in the country, in the state, in the continent, in the WORLD he had to go HERE!
I hate my life. As my generation would say, FML.
"Oliver" I acknowledged him, burying the hatred and mixed emotions deep deep DEEP down in my heart.
I felt Dylan lay his hand over mine to assure me that he was there. I smiled gratefully at him, but given the circumstances my smile would have been a grimace at most. "Are you together now? Is that it? You waited until college to hook up with Dylan?" Oliver spat out.
I glared at him, and I would have punched him in the face if Dylan hadn't gripped my hand to stop me from doing so.
"Is there a problem here?" Mark asked, standing up from his seat. I would've laughed at how much Mark sounded so much like an officer, but obviously this wasn't the time for that.
"Oh I see, so you have two boyfriends now huh Jenny?" Oliver sneered.
I shook my head in disbelief. What did I see in that guy?! "You have no right to call me Jenny! And also, the only two timer in this table is you Oliver" I growled. Dylan put his arm protectively around me and I just wanted so much to lean into him and...NO! We are just friends."This b*stard cheated on you?!" Daisy exclaimed, sounding surprised. "With my best friend" I mumbled. Now Daisy looked like she wanted to beat the shit out of him. "I didn't want to be with you in the first place. I only dated you to get back at Dylan"
My brain took a slow time to register the words he had just uttered. I couldn't think straight because at the moment I was felt very mixed feelings were stirred inside of me. You could say that I was "triggered"
I was confused at what Dylan could have done to Oliver to make him want to take revenge on him by dating me. I felt very angry because men are such pigs! Wait, no, Oliver is not a man he is a boy, so boys are such pigs! I can't believe that he used me and played with me as if I was a toy!
Women are not tissues that you can just use and throw away when you have no more us for them anymore!
"I think it's best that you leave, now" Mark told Oliver with a hint of undertone in his voice. Oliver looked as if he was about to say something, but I guess he had at least some brains in that big head of his because he shut his mouth, crossed his arms and walked away with a look of anger on his face.
As his figure blended in with the crowd of students in the cafeteria I turned to look at Dylan. "What happened between the both of you that made him suddenly want to date me?" I said, demanding for the answer.
Dylan avoided my stare, I walked out of his grasp. Before I could ask him anything else the warning bell rang, signaling that the students had to start going to their next class.
Neither of the two of us moved, we held a staring contest. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Daisy and Mark standing still, unsure of what to do.
"We should get to class" Mark said, Dylan broke our stare. Which was kind of a pity because I actually liked staring into his warm brown eyes...
In a friendly and totally platonic way of course!
"Fine, but we'll talk about this later" I told Dylan. He nodded, not meeting my eyes. I didn't have time to discuss it with him because my next class was about to start which was social studies and apparently it was Mark's next class as well. "See you later" Daisy waved, I noticed that her stare lingered on Mark and there was a light blush on her face. "Definitely" I heard Mark mutter. I winked at him and smiled knowingly. We both laughed while Daisy and Dylan gave us curious looks. As we went off to our next class, I could feel Dylan's gaze burning my back.
Not that it mattered...
