Chapter Two

7:15

The night was cold, and the moon was as vivid as ever. The lock in was about to begin. Everything was set up for the night. No one could leave until morning. Sleeping bags were placed every 12 inches of each kid. The girls were separated from the boys. The majority of the group consisted of girls. The girls stayed to the right of the library while the boys stayed to the left .There were only fifteen desktop computers that separated their boundaries. Fortunately there were only eight students, so there wouldn’t be any rotations for the computers. For a while nobody spoke. Ms.Ficket changed into green pajama pants for the night while the rest of they didn’t even bother to change. Instead they got down to business by starting to type the outline for their story plot. Daniel with his head down on the desk plugged in his Flash Drive in the USB port. Joan sat in the next row in front of Daniel   with some other girls next to her. The other guys Peter and Jack sat a row behind Daniel. They didn’t bother to talk to each other even though they sat next to each other. Sweat began to drip from Aaron’s face like he was hiding something. Every five seconds he would glance over at Jacks monitor. It was a repetitive motion that continued for the next ten to twenty minutes. The more he looked worse his face looked. To Daniel it seemed ridiculous that a bloke like Peter would want to copy Jack’s creativity word by word. The worst part of it all was that Jack was cool with it. One kid was already up to 1,000 words already, while he was only up to 0. The purpose for the Flash Drive was for pure entertainment. Before he left the computer lab this afternoon Daniel had downloaded a couple of games on Game Jolt. He couldn’t download these games from this website at home because the laptop that he had was the family computer. Daniels mom would check the download history for the past week every Friday morning to make sure that nobody in the family was downloading anything inappropriate. Last week Daniels Mom found a download that was for a game called “Outlast”. She got so furious that she literally almost threw the laptop out the kitchen window. After that little incident Daniel had to way his options out. The computer lab during 8th period would have worked if he were to delete his history. But even so, Daniel knew that if he had deleted his history it would still turn up eventually. So he figured what the hell. Evan though he needed to start typing an outline, might as well have some fun before he got started. The game that Daniel played this afternoon was still saved to his Flash Drive. “When silence awakens “was the name of the game, and another game called “Tea Party of the dead” that he also had on the Flash Drive.  “Tea Party of The Dead,” was the first that he started with. Daniel desperately tried loading the file up when Ms.Ficket wasn’t looking. Loading the Title screen took over ten minutes. The brightness decreased 50%, and a set of ear buds were plugged in. The game was about to begin again. Daniel liked to imagine that he was in the main protagonist in the game. The imagination is a powerful thing, he thought .From what Daniel had seen the developers from previous games that they created. Their games had a tremendous amount of vulgar. Then this game shouldn’t be any different. The title screen had opened up to a black background. Only three options were presented in the middle; new games, continue, and settings. The first time he played he didn’t get to save the game, so it was time to start from scratch. No one had noticed what he was about to do yet. Joan still preoccupied with her writing same as with the other kids .Ms.Ficket completely knocked out at the Liberians desk. The game began in an asylum room marked #281.The room was completely white. On opposite side of the number markings were a timer that counted down from 20 minutes. It stopped briefly when Daniel moved forward. Heavy breathing started behind Daniels character. It was like something was something literally breathing down the back of his neck outside in reality. He hesitated to move his mouse around to check. Usually in horror games this was always a bad sign. But he managed to muster up the courage to do so.” God help me!” he whispered. He gently moved the mouse the right slowly. When he had completely turned around nothing was there only a One- way mirror. It seemed to Daniel that this room is currently under experimentation. A voice from an intercom came on.” David if you can hear me please say something. If you remember correctly David, then you know that I’m your Doctor. I’ve been your Doctor for little over a month now”. Daniels character didn’t say anything instead he just stood in the middle of the room dead silent. The only good that came out of this game was that it had a first-person perspective. The graphics were high quality. It looked like a professional game developer had created it. This was pleasing to Daniel because in his opinion this allowed more emersion. Remembering what to expect, he braced himself for a jumpscare.
