We walked into town. 10 years had gone by since last time we were here. Some of the buildings were burned down and the ashes floated around in the wind gusts . I stumbled over something , but managed to recover my balance so i didn't fall. While we continued along the memories of where i once grew up came back slowly but surely. Buildings I remembered from when i lived here , were gone. None of us knew what had happened , but it wasn't that difficult to guess. Probably bombs. A gravel road went up the streets and rounded a corner . Whatever had happened here , it was powerful enough to pulverize the concrete. A piece of a skyscraper had collapsed over the road. While I was thinking about different ways to get past , we discovered a fountain. It didn't work , but that meant we were at the town plaza. The ashes where so compact that my vision got kinda clouded. It was rather hard to breathe, but we managed. Vincent began to cough harshly. -He needs water, I said. The others agreed. We split up in smaller groups and decided to scavenge the city for supplies.

I ran down the street. I knew exactly which house to look through. My own of course. I arrived at a stone bridge i had to cross. It wasn't safe but i had to. There was no other way because under the bridge, the river flowed by like a train. If i tried to swim over i would most likely die. If i tried to jump over i would also die. Considering that i can't jump that far. I carefully took the first step, then the second and third. It seemed safe. When i reached the other side i continued to run, and after a while i arrived. The house was standing there peacefully. Most of the roof had fallen off, but other than that it was in pretty good shape. I opened the door and walked inside. I was actually hoping for someone to be home but that was just wish thinking. Of course everyone had left. I looked through the kitchen cabinets. I found a bag of beef jerky, some soda, bread, water bottles, an energy bar and some potatoes. I took everything and put it in my backpack. I went up the stairs and entered my room. I took the picture of me and my family that was standing on my table. I grabbed some warm clothing from my closet and then i left.

When everyone met up again at the plaza Vincent was in a lot of pain. He was coughing up blood. -I saw a pharmacy not to far away, Rio said. He stood up and ran. Rio was Vincent's brother. I could tell how scared he was. -Zai can you go after him? She nodded. I sat down next to Vincent and gave him a bottle of water. -Here you go buddy, drink up. He was very weak. I spotted a tear right under his eye. Soon there were multiple of them running down his cheeks. -I don't wanna die, he uttered.
