It was a bright day. The sun was shining, Flinn, my neighbors dog, was barking at me. I approach him and pet him. "Hey Flinn did yah miss me?" then i wave hi to Bella, my neighbors daughter and Flinns "mom" some would say. I live in the Mayfair Country Club Condominiums. Which was a fancy way of saying the condos on the corner of mayfair road. By the four way light. The condos are set up as one big house cut in four parts. Theres apartment A B C & D. im B. so i'm right by the side walks closes to the garages, the second closes as i should say, She in D right across from me in another apartment. Now i could go on and on about the way my condo, along with the other codes, are set up or i can tell you the story. The story of the box.
Once I greet Bella i walk to my door. There was not a big but not a small box, but a box about the size of a art box, so it was tiny. I bend down and pick it up. "What is this?" I said with no clue what it was. At least at the moment. I look at the box on all 6 sides. I take of my backpack at put in inside then slide the bag over my shoulder again. I unlock my door and open it. "Mom? I'm home." No response. "Hello?" I was so confused. My mom has no car, and no job, and even when she did, she'd leave a note to tell me where she had gone to. I put down my bag and go upstairs. No one, nobody, nowhere. So i go down stairs and remembered of the box. I get it out and open it. "What?" there was a drink, and it said happy early birthday, love dad. "Dad can send stuff like this from there??" I was confused but thankful. "Thanks dad" i said out loud though i knew nobody was home. I take out the drink, and open it. It was in a black water bottle with a blue lid. I take the bottle and smell the drink. "Smells good" I say. I take a drink, then drink it all, it was a small bottle, so I drank it all. Then all of a sudden i got woozy. "What was in that drink?" I yell, then i look at the card and noticed a note in the box. It wrote "P.S. good luck" "what the-" before I even knew it I collapsed on the floor. I woke up to a boy sitting on my couch. I scream, and my scream startled him. "WHO ARE YOU?!" I yelled. Once he realized I was talking to him he looked shocked. "Me? Wait you can see me??" The boy said and stood up. "You aren't dead, you're alive, so how can you see me?" He looked skeptical. He helped me up, and was more shocked. "I can... Touch you? But how, my hands should go right through you!" I stood silently the whole time, but I needed answers. "Who are you, what do you mean I can see you, what's going on, YES I'm alive aren't you, and what do you mean your hands go right through me you're not a ghost!" He looked at me. " OK let me break it down I am, I mean as in you shouldn't be able to see me, I don't know what's going on, no I'm not alive, I mean my hands are supposed to go to you, once again I'm not alive, actually I am ghost." Once he explained it all to me I didn't pass out from the drink I just passed out. Then I woke on some stranger's couch some weird guy approaches me. "OK who are you I'm having enough with these weirdos today just coming up to me like they know me! Who are you and where am I?!" I yelled I was getting frustrated. "I am Dr. Kenneth, Nate over here has told me you can CS which now I see is true, I do not know how because you are alive." I interrupt him. "Just like you, I'm done with the stupid games is this some kind of sick joke I want to go home!" Next to me was the box that was at my front door. He takes the bottle and brings it over to a table and put it in this machine then a paper comes out of this machine like a receipt from the store. "Oh my, this is why!" The boy, or Nate, runs over to him and reads the paper. "How is even possible who made this?" The doctor looks at me, then Nate. "you need to tell her, the truth, it's okay, she's one of you." He looks over to me "OK I'm alive but who's the difference between me and you I've been like this for a while as in the same thing happened to me one a bottle showed up at my front door I drink it thinking it was my friend giving me a birthday present and then I became this a human stuck in the middle of life and death. That meaning I can see both living and dead, dead meaning the ones that haven't passed on Kinda like the ones in a limbo state." It took a while for me to process this it's all so fast. Stand up off the couch, and I look them both up and down and then speak. "Are you serious this isn't a joke? Be serious, if this is a joke you need to tell me now!" "It's not a joke Alexis!" My mind didn't know what to believe but I went along because even if this was a joke, I'd be too scared to say something because if this is like a joke they could be here to hurt me. I thought about how I'm not in my own house, and how I want to go home. "Okay I believe you know what do I do now? Go talk to some dead people." I joke. "No you will help Nate thank wish demons and help others pass through. Also stop lingering ghosts in the limbo state from bothering fleshlings. Such as people, alive." "Will I ever see my family again?" "No." It's took me a second but then I nodded excepting my fate, I mean it is my fault after all I drink that weird stuff thinking it was just a weird drink. I later on, vanquish demons, help pass ghost, and illuminate ghosts bothering to humans. It's been almost a week and I finally ask a question. "So why were you at my house in the first place?" I ask. Nate looked surprised, maybe it was because it's been so long since this all began and I'm just now asking that question. He stutters. "Uh-ear-ah-um." "Spit it out!" I yell at him. "Well I don't think I'm weird!" I nodded my head. "Okay, you're an interesting person to watch since you cannot see me it's like a reality show like an actual reality! You were just so interesting, I had and have many questions, at the time I could just not ask.." I look at him. "Now you can? What do you want to know?" We walk around looking for demons and ghosts while he asks me questions and I laugh at his ridiculous questions. I go on the years completely forgetting my life I left behind, only looking at the one ahead, with my new peoples, dead, or alive.
