lights... they were everywhere,
they flowed around her in all different
shapes and colors. she blinked three times
and then everything was black
her eyes stung as she blinked again.
she felt herself being compressed into a
smaller form as the walls around her seemed
to close in on her, and then it was
over.
Her hands ran over the grass around her as she breathed a sigh of relief. She gazed up at the purple sky as it began to lighten and smiled. She lay there for some time and then she dozed off into a light sleep.

Ebony Cornelia Stone, arguably the most peculiar being on planet earth. She suffers from multiple mental disorders and was born with out her left arm. When she was in the age range of 5 to 8 she used to scare other kids away by showing them the shoulder that contained no appendage.
Ebony awoke quite suddenly in her bed a cold sweat had begun to form on her face and she was looking around as if someone was going to attack her. She felt around the room cautiously looking for a light switch, something so that she could locate her prosthetic arm and check the clock. Her right hand felt the wall as the light suddenly flickered on as she flicked on the switch. She grimaced a little and scrunched her nose at the sudden burst of light. As if she hadn't had enough of that.
She looked around her monstrosity of a room in search of her arm, which in rage she had thrown across the room last night. She rubbed her right eye in frustration, mainly at herself for being such a slob but also at the stupid colors that her mom had picked for her room and the fact that the arm was pretty much the same color as the four tan walls that encircled her in what she called a room.
"God dammit mom" she muttered as she got on all threes to look for her hidden arm. The clock indicated that it was 5'00 in the morning, don't you just love it when that happens, she thought sarcastically.
Ebony finally found her arm and did what she normally did as she attached it to her empty shoulder socket. She then went and sat down in her bed and peered out the window, it was quite a sight, a sleeping city. New York is known as the city that never sleeps, but living here, seeing the city without lights was particularly calming.
Ebony sighed as she saw a couple of girls on the street wearing some very skimpy clothes and she snapped the curtains shut.
"You'd at least think that they'd have enough decency to actually cover themselves up this early in the morning" she muttered and flopped onto her bed falling into a light slumber.

her 6:15 alarm started gong haywire what felt like minutes after she had fallen asleep. Ebony groaned and hit it repeatedly before it stopped blaring sounds. She sat up in her bed and dangled her feet over the edge before setting them down onto the cold hardwood. she stood up slowly, it was kind of like when you watch Netflix for so long in a certain place that getting up is sometimes hard.
when she finally found her balance she walked over to her closet and looked at it with a somewhat questioning expression,
"I'm not in the mood to pick an outfit out" she said and shook her head, it was mid may, so it opened up her closet up a bit more but she was never much of a pick your own outfit kind of girl. she stuck her head out of the door and yelled
"MA" one syllable but a strong and powerful voice.
A door down the hallway opened slowly to revel a gorgeous figure, virtually perfect. In her arms a small baby sleeping what seemed like fitfully. Ebony smiled at her mother and baby brother.
"E" her mom said addressing her by her self given nickname "What do you need?" she asked wearily.
Ebony stepped out of her room, leaving the door ajar. "Mom" she said softly "Please, I need you to pick an outfit for me" she said.
her mother had a less than amused expression on her face,
"You risk waking up Keith for this?!" she exclaimed in a hiss.
"Mom please" she pleaded and ran to hold her baby brother, "I'll hold him" she offered, rubbing her thumb along his cheek.
Her mom let out an angry huff "Ebony if you do this again" she said and rolled her eyes before walking quickly to her closet to pick her daughter out a decent looking outfit.
Ebony breathed a huge sigh of relief,
"What would we do with out Mom" she muttered down to Keith, playing with his fingers in hers.
Her mom exited the room, and said quietly "I left it on your bed" her mother brought the back of her hand up to her mouth to stifle a yawn.
Ebony reluctantly handed her baby brother back to her mom.
"Thanks" she murmured softly and ruffled his hair one last time before retreating into her room.
She glanced at the things on her bed and gave a nod of approval. It was a striped navy blue and white three quarter sleeve shirt and high waisted shorts.
"Man am i going to look good today." she said admiring her moms handiwork. She went to her shoes and picked out a pair of white converse.

About 30 minutes later she emerged from her room. She wandered to the kitchen, which was about 14-15 steps away. She stuck her head in the fridge and got took it out holding a yogurt cup in her mouth.
She set it down on the counter and went to grab a spoon, humming High School Musical quietly. Her mom's boyfriend was sitting on the couch. She rolled her eyes and quietly ate her yogurt, throwing glares his way every once in a while.
He needs to get his own place, no scratch that, she thought, he needs to get a job and then he has to get a place, yeah that sounds good she thought, staring daggers into the back of his head. She shook herself from her train of thought and looked up at the clock,
"Oh shit" she muttered and grabbed her car keys from the counter and ran back to her mothers room. "Bye Mom" she said quickly and kissed her forehead and rushed out the door and into the garage of their apartment.
