Two children, one of Light,

The other made of Darkness,

Were in separate ways as they gave flight.

The Light child, like sunshine,

Lit up the sky, and

She gave what others couldn't say 'That's mine!'.

Whilst the child of Darkness,

Sat and waited, staring up,

At the Light as she brings her brightness.

The Darkness softly, slightly smiles,

Continuing to watch Light's brightness,

But, frowns, knowing they were separated by miles.

"Maybe I could meet her,"

Says darkness, thinking to herself,

Chuckling, imagining the fun they would have together.

As twilight came, Darkness sway,

Lying on Mother's other side,

Then, confronted Light, the child of the day.

"Hello," she said, politely waving,

Then bowing refinedly, smiling wide,

And waited for a reply back, almost craving.

Light smiled, seeming to reply,

But, she faded away, gone,

Flying away, frowning and crying, without saying Good-bye.

Weeping herself, Darkness glided around,

Mother, her tears bringing rain,

The rain so heavy, hitting the hard ground.

Darkness hundled against Mother, lying,

Onto Her warm, soft embrace,

Never trying to stop her never-ending crying.

But, hours past, bringing morning,

And Light stared down, smiling,

"No need, my friend, for  your sad mourning."

"I will play with you,

Until you need to away.",

Light implied, her smile shining the dew.

Then, Light and Dark played,

Played until the bright dawn,

Came and brought a new, fruitful day.

The child of Light lit,

Up of the sky, again,

Her brightness shining down, even in Darkness' pit.
