Year 926AS 19.September
I was sitting by the table doing my homework, our dog barked telling me she wanted me to throw her ball.
"I know you want to play Gina, I'm sorry, but this is important! I have a test tomorrow about how the earth was saved, and I want to get a full score!"
Gina sat with a sad whimper.
Sighing I jumped down from my chair. "Fine, but just for 10 minutes."
Gina had almost flown into the living room, as I chased after her.
"Hello, Daria." I looked towards our home helping robot.
"Hi, Diggs!"
Gina sniffed after her ball as I squatted down next to her. Oh, that dog... No matter how clean the house was, she always manages to lose it.
"Diggs do you have a video of last time I played with Gina?"
Diggs turned, "Yes, how so?"
I got up, "Gina can't find her ball, again."
Diggs shook his head. "I will never understand why humans still have animals."
He hovered over to the wall and plugged himself in. "Hmm... Oh, I see. She stashed it over behind the books."
I gave Gina a glare. "How did you even get over there?"
I pointed my finger as Gina ran over to the bookshelf, knocking over books before finding her ball.
Mr.Diggs sped over frustrated by the mess. "Shoo, bad dog!"
Gina barked at Mr. Diggs and walked proudly over to me with the ball, leaving Mr.Diggs to clean up.
"Oh, what would we do without you, Diggs?" I sighed.
Gina and I walked out into the backyard. Mom was sitting down browsing for toys, pondering about what to buy for my upcoming brother.
"How is the little ball of magic doing?"
I ran over to mom, smiled, hugged her stomach and tried hard to listen if my brother would make some sounds. Mom had explained to me that you wished for babies, and if your wish was granted, a ball of magic would fill your stomach. Then after 9 months, you'd have a baby! That seemed so amazing - but Mom said that I couldn't wish for a baby until I was much older...
"The baby will be ready soon Daria, don't want to disturb it too much."
I backed away. "Sorry magic brother, I won't bother you."
Gina barked happily at mom, jumping up into her lap. Mom almost jumped herself and started laughing as Gina sniffed her belly.
"Gina the magic ball needs rest!" I pulled her off of mom, but she struggled to get out of my grip.
I waved the toy ball in front of her face. "You want this, don't you?"
Gina's focus switched over to the ball, and she tried to bite it out of my hands. I threw it towards the fence of our garden, and I let Gina out of my grip.
"Go get it, girl!" I yelled.
Gina suddenly stopped running toward the ball, her ears stood straight up, and she turned her head at me.
"Gina, what is it?"
Gina started growling and charged straight at me, I shielded myself as she ran right past me, straight into the house. Mom got out of her chair and quickly went after her.
