The Assignment

Assignment #1

My friend Sabine and I were paired together for a language assignment,when we were in 6th grade. Our teacher's assignment was to write a fictional story, about anything that we created/made up. Our teacher gave us two days, to finish the assignment and submit it. My 6th grade class were each paired into groups of 2, to create a fictional story, our teacher told all of us to be creative, and create something that it's interesting, maybe sci-fictional, or anything that is beyond our timeline at that time. Almost everyone in the class chosen a partner to do the assignment, including me.

Somehow Writing a fictional story with Sabine was memorable. The thing I remember the most was writing in a journal named 'Idea Journal',where we can both write our ideas, and write our inspirations into that journal anywhere, and anytime we want. I remembered most of the things I wrote, in fact after I finished the assignment, I even kept the journal, and so did Sabine. The first day, when we got back from school, Sabine and I started brainstorming.

"So,where should we start?"I asked.

"I don't know..."She shrugged.

"Maybe we could grab some ideas from some TV series' we watched, or movies,or books...?"I asked, still thinking.

"That sounds like a great idea, but whatever we do, we really need to ace this assignment. This assignment counts 15% of our semester grade."Sabine replied.

We both sat on my bay-window, thinking, brainstorming, soon I was in a deep thought, and I assumed that she's in a deep thought too. We both just stared at the ground, not even moving, it's like time was frozen. I started thinking in my deep thoughts. "What if our ideas weren't good enough? What if we failed this assignment? What if everything goes wrong? What if... Ugh, I need to stop having doubts.I know that Sabine and I can do it."

Soon the silence was broken by Sabine, "I have an idea!"

I shook my head up, broken out of my thoughts. "What was that?"I asked, kind of confused.

"I said I have an idea. Maybe we could write a fanfiction! About Star Wars! Or maybe something similar! We both started watching Star Wars,and the Rebel series since we were 11."She said, excitedly.

"Oh my gosh, that's an amazing idea!!! We can create our own story-line,and our own characters, with the Star Wars time-lines, and maybe a mix with the Star Wars Rebels characters!"Sabine exclaimed.

"Yes! This is the best idea we'd ever created! We are definitely going to ace this assignment."I said.

We both started writing ideas in our Idea Journal, and created our fictional characters for our story, soon we had over 20 ideas, and we started writing it in POV style.

After two days, we finally finished our story, turns out it was better than we thought it would be. Everything we wrote was mostly created by us, except some official characters that we used from the series, and supernatural powers, but everything else we did it on our own. We submitted it to our teacher, and guess what? We got an A on our assignment! I honestly never thought that our story would turn out better than we thought. I have learned that sometimes, you just need to believe in yourself,and the person you're working with, hold onto hope, always have faith, because if you don't believe, if you don't have faith, you can't do it. Without hope, we got nothing. Always hold onto hope.
