All I can feel is the cold air of the night hitting my pale face as I walk the dark and empty streets, almost making me feel alive. Almost. I try to do this as little as possible, in fact I wish I didn't have to do it at all, but it's my way of life. It had been a week since I last fed and the pain in my stomach was beginning to become unbearable. I continued to patrol the deserted street until one particular sound caught my attention, the faint drum of a heartbeat. On any other day, I wouldn't have been so excited, but due to my ever growing hunger I was struggling to contain myself. I began to quicken my pace and as I did so, the drumming grew louder with every step, almost teasing me for I could not find it's source. Alas, I laid eyes on the very soul making my mouth water, a young man in his early twenties judging by his looks and just to my luck he had unknowingly trapped himself in a secluded alleyway, perfect for what I planned to do to him.

I stepped in front of him, and before he even had the chance to speak, my fangs were buried deep into this neck, viscously slurping up the red liquid oozing from his veins. After what had seemed like hours, I detached myself from him and sighed in relief that the pain radiating from my abdomen had subsided. I took a second to glance down at his cold and pale corpse and almost felt sorry for the lad because of the horrified look etched upon his face, but I couldn't allow myself to become attached as I had a more important task at hand, hiding his stupid body. I felt particularly lazy at that point in time and decided to just lick a long stripe against his neck, instantly closing his puncture wounds, I couldn't have mortals finding out that my kind existed outside of their beloved books.

Satisfied with my work, I swiftly exited the ally and began my trek back home, if you can even call it that. A beaten up house in the middle of nowhere isn't very homely, but it's private and it's mine so I suppose it'll have to do, being what I am, I can't really have much else. The trail back home was boring as per usual, however, tonight was especially annoying as the wind thought it'd be a great idea to blow my hair into my face, much to my disgust. As I frantically began to push the blonde locks out of my face, I failed to notice someone heading my way, and of course, we collided. After registering what happened, I stood up and offered my hand towards the brunette that I had knocked to the ground, and surprisingly, she accepted. It was when I pulled her to a standing position that I was able to see her beauty, and she didn't fail to take my breath away. I stood there for a moment just admiring her features, that button nose of hers, milky brown eyes I found myself getting lost in and those lips...so kissable. A melodic giggled snapped me out of my daze and it was then that I realised I had been staring for quite some time. When I thought she couldn't possibly get any more perfect, the goddess before me spoke and her voice caused the flutter of a thousand butterflies to erupt in my stomach.

"Enjoying the view?" She asked.

I found myself lost for words for the first time, and internally cringed at what had left my mouth

"Indeed." And with that, I had to restrain my hands from facepalming myself, although the laughter my words caused her was worth it.

"Well I best be going, thanks for helping me up by the way. Most people would've just walked off." She announced before sending a grin my way.

God that smile had me going weak in the knees.

"It w-was my pleasure" I choked out before watching her walk away, allowing my eyes to travel to places they shouldn't, but with a body like that I couldn't help myself. Once again I was snapped out of my daze by her beautiful face turning to meet my gaze again, this time with a smirk plastered on it. If I had a heartbeat I would've been blushing, being caught staring at a strangers ass was quite embarrassing.

After standing still, thinking about that stunning brunette, I continued my walk back home, for once with a smile on my face. When I reached my house, I struggled to unlock the door as I was still entranced by the girl who seemed to be Venus reincarnated. After minutes of fumbling I managed to get the measly door open and the first thing I did was collapse on my bed. To be honest I don't know why I have one, I can't sleep at least not properly, but I guess I like to lay there and think. The piece of furniture which was once used to think of ways to cover up my killings, was now being used to think about her. I hope tonight wasn't our last encounter.
