CHAPTER 1

My phone has been ringing for a while now, and I'm getting annoyed because of it. 'Kakapikit ko palang may tumatawag na agad?'

"What? Make sure this is important that you chose to ruin my sleep." Nakapikit pang sabi ko. Anong oras na ba at ang ingay na nila sa baba, rinig na rinig hanggang sa kwarto.

"Young lady, today is your first day and it's already 7:30 am. Your first class is around 8:30 am, I think you need to prepare---" Bago pa nito matapos ang sasabihin ay dali-dali akong napabangon at napatingin sa side table, tama nga ito. Napahawak naman ako sa ulo ko dahil medyo nahilo ako sa biglaang pagbangon na 'yon.

'I was so tired yesterday that I forgot to set my alarm clock. Those b*tches! They didn't even bother to wake me up!'

"Thank you, kuya George." Pagtapos kong magpasalamat ay tumayo na ako at hinanap ang mga gamit na susuotin ko ngayong araw.

After 20 minutes, I'm already done with my get-up. Kailangan ko nalang gawin ay mag make-up to create fake bumps and freckles on my face. I just want to add this to my get up and actually, I kind of like this, pretending to be someone that's really far from me. It's a new experience for me to achieve.

I checked myself at my full length body mirror, I think I'm already done. Kinuha ko na yung eyeglass at contact lenses ko. I have to wear contact lenses to hide my eye color. Having gray eyes is unusual in Philippines. I'm afraid it will attract the attention of others. Ayokong maging sentro ng attention ng mga tao habang nakadamit ng ganito. That's why I chose to wear one.

I don't think I need to wear wig because I already have natural black hair, and I think black hair is natural here.

Me, Lillith and the twins are wearing jelly brown contact lenses. Pinagsuot ko rin ng wig ang kambal para itago ang mga natural na buhok nito. Masyadong delikado kapag natunton nanaman kami ng mga 'yon.

Pagbaba ko ay naabutan kong nakabihis na pala silang lahat at handa ng umalis. Kinuha ko na yung bag ko at tinignan sila isa isa.

"Let's go, it's already 8:10 in the morning we need to get out of here already. Pinahanda ko na yung car sa labas at ihahatid lang tayo sa back gate ng school." Pagtapos kong sabihin 'yon ay tumalikod na ako.

'All we need to do is to pretend for 1 whole year. This is a piece of cake!' rinig kong bulong ng kambal sa isa't isa.

Nasa sasakyan na kami pero nakasimangot pa rin si Erika. I understand her because she doesn't want this kind of thing.

"Can I just wear the usual uniform of Hendrix? My body is literally itching right now." sabi nito habang maarteng kinakamot ang braso at binti.

"Stop complaining, Erika! You know well, what's the reason for this situation and why we're all doing this. This is not a joke, you all know that." I said while massaging my temples. Napatingin naman ito sa'kin at napasimangot.

"I think, I can't do this! This get up is sooo~ irritating, it making me sick!" I crossed my legs and stared at her blankly.

"You can't? You think you have choice in this situation? Don't make me repeat myself. You know how bad my temper is!" Dala na rin siguro ng pagod at sakit ng ulo kaya ganito ako magsalita.

I'm just worried. I know I won't be able to protect all of them if ever that Thanatos Mafia find us again. I want them safe, I don't want to lose anyone anymore, sa tingin ko ay hindi ko na kakayanin.

"I'm sorry, Luci." sabi nito habang nakayuko. I can't blame her, but she know that this is difficult for me too.

"By the way, from now on call me Lizel. Don't ever call me Luci again, lalo na pag nasa school tayo or public place, okay? I also don't want to go to another country again just to hide from those b*stards." I said while looking at them, baka kasi nakakalimutan na ng mga 'to.

This is my first time in many years to call them again in their real names. Actually, hindi ako sanay na tinatawag sa totoong pangalan at pati na rin ang tawagin sila sa totoo nilang pangalan. Simula bata pa lang kami may binigay na sa aming mga code names at 'yon ang kinalakihan namin. Aunt Hera said that, that is for our own good.

I think once or twice ko lang nabanggit ang mga pangalan ng mga 'to.

Tumango naman sila at inayos ang kanilang mga sarili. Malapit na kasi kami sa likod ng school. Wala dapat makapansin samin at baka maghinala sila kung bakit kami sa back gate dumaan para makapasok. Dahil first day, alam kong maraming estudyante ang nakaabang sa harap ng gate. Afterall, this school is exclusive for rich kids.

Tumigil na ang sasakyan at sabay sabay kaming napa buntong hininga. Tinignan ko sila isa isa at ngumiti.

"Before we leave, I'd like to remind everyone that no matter what happens, you mustn't get involved in the business of other students here. Do you understand?"

"Roger!" sabay sabay nilang sabi sabay bukas ng pinto.

'This is it! I hope everything turns out fine!'
