Well you guys...

September 11, 2016 at 7:34, my grandfather passed away. And in his last hour, I held his hand through it all....

Well, until my grandmother asked if she could have the last few minutes because we knew, by his breathing, that's all it would be.

For an hour, he was breathing hard, and it sounded like there was fluid in his lungs and then my aunt, who is a registered nurse, have him something to help him relax. His breathing evened out and the fluid-like sound stopped. He lay there breathing well and I say with him, singing some of his favorite songs to him. When I noticed his breathing getting really faint, I looked at my aunt, who was laying on the bed behind us, and smiled sadly. She asked me to get my grandmother and my grandmother got to be with him through the rest.

I know that some of you might not want to know some of that, but I just wanted y'all to know that I'm okay. Yes, I will miss him. I will miss him dearly, but I am at peace with it. I cried before he passed and I smiled when they told me it was over because I was happy to know he would not suffer another day through the pain he was in.

I am so grateful to have been such a wonderful mans granddaughter. A retired state trooper and a Methodist preacher. Very successful farmer and my best memories of him getting his tractor stuck to the seat and having it sink lower in the mud almost to the top. You think I'm kidding, but I'm not!! He had a knack for getting his teacher stuck in mud and having to have another one pull him out.

He was a wonderful family man and I love him dearly.

The funeral is Friday, and he will be cremated and buried our in front of the pond, "The most beautiful place on earth" he said. It's what he wanted and its what he's getting.

Now, as for the book, give me until Saturday to get settled back into a regular schedule again and by Monday, I should be able to post the chapter.

Anyway.

I love y'all!! Thank y'all so much for working with me and being patient. Y'all are awesome!!

I've gotta get some sleep now. Night y'all!!
