Throughout the night, many trivia contests were held, and even though she knew she could (maybe) win, Anna didn't enter any of them. Two reasons, really. One, she was too shy to go stand in front of everyone and talk. Two, it reminded her painfully of Alex. She thought she heard his voice a couple times during the night, but she brushed it off. When she thought she heard him say her name, she pinched herself. She was just imagining it, right? He couldn't be here, right? He didn't even like Harry Potter. Right??
A voice came on over the loudspeaker, asking them to please head downstairs to the first level of the library. She felt a rush of excitement and went with the crowd, heading down the stairs. A boy with blue hair and a charming smile was walking next to her. She couldn't help but be fascinated by his hair.
"Are you Teddy Lupin? Or is your hair always blue?" she queried. He laughed and looked at her. She felt her insides squirm as his eyes met hers.
"I suppose I can be Teddy Lupin... I just came to talk to pretty girls. Like you." He winked.
"Oooooookay..." Anna looked down at the stairs, feeling quite uncomfortable. The boy continued to ramble, but she wasn't paying any attention. Now, more than ever, she wished Alex were here. She remembered a deal they had made in freshman year... If they were out somewhere and someone started to flirt with them and it made them uncomfortable, the other party would pretend to be their fake girlfriend or boyfriend. She needed Alex as her boyfriend right now. No, wait. Her fake boyfriend. Fake. Did she say fake?
Once they were downstairs, she made her way to the back of the room, trying to lose the blue-haired boy. Someone said a pun over the sound system, "My obsession with Harry Potter has gotten a bit... riddikulus." Anna laughed loudly; she adored puns. She leant back against the wall, a smile on her face. Just then, the blue-haired boy came back. "Thought you could lose me, eh?" She felt her stomach drop and her smile disappeared. "Teddy" roughly grabbed her arm and began to pull her away. "No! Stop! Let go of me!" She struggled against his grip, but he was too strong for her. He did something to her arm, she didn't know what, but it hurt like hell. She gasped in pain and tried to pull away again. She was rewarded with another burst of pain in her arm. This time, she blacked out.
Next thing she knew, she was in the back of a car being driven away to somewhere and she couldn't even scream for help.
