Chapter Eight
I looked in the mirror, about to walk out the door. I had to say London was magic. I don't know how she did it, but she got me looking like an absolute princess in about an hour. I had on a white lace dress with a brown belt. She had touched up my hair for any pieces that had fallen straight or were laying weird. Lastly came the make-up. She somehow managed to cover the small blemishes I had all across my face.
As I was walking out the door to meet Niall in the parking lot, I got a text message.
From: 636-780-1234
Hey Im really sorry but I can't pick u up... Would u be able to meet me at the restaurant?
I sighed. I knew this was coming. How could I not. He had already bailed on me before. I hesitated before responding. Should I really go out with him? He canceled on me earlier today and now this. After thinking about it for a moment, I decided I would just meet him there. I didn't want to let this outfit and perfect make-up go the waste.
To: 636-780-1234
Fine. What is the address?
From: 636-780-1234
its 1234 Hathaway Avenue.

About thirty minutes later I found myself in the parking lot of a small Italian looking restaurant. The parking lot was empty except for my car and three others. I slowly walked towards the door. I looked down to see if Niall had text me back yet. I had told him I was here and that I was getting ready to walk in. I saw he had responded.
From: 636-780-1234
okay. go ahead in and ill be there in five. I have a reservation under Niall.
I opened the door and it made a loud screeching sound. When I saw the inside of the restaurant I was blown away. The outside looked dingy and worn, but the inside was the complete opposite. I saw Italian paintings on the walls and lanterns hanging from the ceiling. It was absolutely gorgeous.
The lady at the reservation desk cleared her throat, waking me up from my trance. I moved away from the doorway and over to where she was. I told her I had a reservation for Niall. She grabbed two menus and led me to a table in the middle of the room. I looked around and saw a family sitting in one of the booths across the room. The mom and dad were laughing at something while their two kids were coloring pictures. They reminded me a lot of my family.
"This is probably going to sound ridiculous, but would I maybe be able to get some crayons and something to color on?" I sheepishly asked the waitress. She just looked at me and laughed. Before I could say anything else she turned around and walked away. A few moments later she returned with five blank sheets of paper and a cup of crayons.
I thanked her and then asked for a glass of water. My phone buzzed and I saw that Niall was going to be here in five minutes. I decide I'd start coloring while I waited. I pulled out a pink crayon and drew a huge heart on top of my paper. I did this multiple times with different colors. Before I knew it my paper was filled with dozens of multicolored hearts. I smiled and thought back to all the times I sat in the booths with my parents and colored my menu until there was no room left.
I grabbed a second sheet of paper and carefully wrote "I <3 One Direction!" I was definitely going to be hanging these on my wall when I got home. As I began writing down all the boys names, I heard someone say, "Well, aren't you quite the artist!" I turned around and found a boy smiling back at me. I looked straight into his eyes and gasped. I would recognize those blue eyes anywhere.
Niall's POV
"Oh man! I'm really late! Great going Niall, you blew it, again!" I yelled at myself as I opened my car door and slammed it shut again. "Now Katie is gonna hate you and want nothing to do with you!" I ran my hand through my hair and sighed. Why was I getting so worked up over this? I mean, Katie just got out of a long relationship plus she could never be interested in a boy like me.
I quickly walked up to the door, keeping my eyes focused on the ground. As the door opened, it made a loud terrifying screech. The woman working the reservation desk walked up to me. I told her that I was under the Niall reservation. She just looked at me and gave me a sweet smile. We slowly walked around the corner to the seating area.
The first thing I saw was a beautiful girl sitting a table by herself. She was wearing a stunning white dress with a brown belt and cowboy boots. Her long chocolate colored hair covered her face. It looked like she was writing or coloring. I stood at the door, not wanting to disturb her. A few moments later her head popped up and I could finally see her face.
She was breath taking. Her skin looked to be glowing and flawless. She had the brightest of blue eyes and I could see what she liked the most about herself. She had her tongue sticking out as she drew. Her eyes were so focused on the page. Suddenly she dropped the crayon she had been holding and admired her work. When she picked it up I could there were dozen of hearts on the page. I laughed to myself and watched her pick up another piece of paper.
I hadn't realized it yet, but the waitress was watching me. When I finally noticed and made eye contact with her she looked at me and said, "Keep this one. She's special."
I nodded and looked back at the girl that had to be Katie. I slowly walked up behind her so I could see what she had been drawing now. I saw her write, "I <3 One Direction!" I laughed. She had told me she was a fan of them. As she began to write their names, I cleared my throat.
"Well, aren't you just quite the artist," I said to her while laughing. She turned around in her seat and looked at me. She gasped as she looked into my eyes for the first time. I smiled, and walked over to her so I could introduce myself.
