Hello! My name is Bria Stokes, I'm 12 years old, and I live in Seattle, Washington. This is my first time writing a serious book so please don't judge! 😁

(If you don't want to hear about my back story, which is part of the book that's kind of important then go to the last paragraph of this page and read that!)

I wrote this book because I just can't get enough of basketball. Like I really don't do anything else except for Instagram, take pictures, eat, drink, sleep, talk, and walk. Those 8 things are my life! My family has supported me through my career as I go on through basketball.

So when I was 10 years old I got called to see if I wanted to play basketball for Seattle Rotary Style. I said yes, I tried out, I was nervous, you know the symptoms of trying something new. They told all the girls that you would get the email if you made it, or not on Tuesday @ 8:00pm. Well I waited kept nagging my dad to see if he got anything, he got annoyed, MY WHOLE FAMILY got annoyed, and I practically cried every night because we didn't get an email. Well 10 year old Bria didn't realize it was Monday night. So the next night I was still nervous, hands shaking, it was 7:50 I was with my dad waiting for the email I wanted to make it SO BAD! Seconds later (which felt like years) I got the email from Daryl Hennings that said "Congratulations Bria Stokes, I am proud to say that you are apart of the first Seattle Rotary Style girls 5th grade basketball team. You and 2 other girls are the first ever 4th graders on the team in history of Seattle rotary basketball." I felt so honored! So I knew I couldn't screw this up.. Which I didn't!
