We all jumped up ready to rehearse before we filmed. We were probably going to have three or four run throughs of the section then film it.
We got to our position when James noticed Taylor was still missing. Jim didn't have his partner.
"Where's Taylor?" He asked.
"Makeup crisis!" Jim laughed.
"I hope she's quick- she won't have time to warm up!" He sighed.
"I hope she's quick too- I'm alone!" Jim pouted causing us all to laugh.
James had a good point. If Taylor didn't warm up she could injure herself quickly. I knew it would be slightly risky but we were running out of time. The rest of us had stretched but Taylor hadn't got ready.
"Ok, let's run this through," James said and pressed the music on. We heard the all too familiar chords of the start of little things and got ready to start.
"I can't stand this song now," Joe whispered as we danced. "I've heard it too much!"
"Me too, but I suppose it's a good dance so it's fine. After all - it's how I met you really so everytime I hear the song I'll think of good things."
"So everytime you hear the song you'll think of me?" He smirked.
"Yes I will," I said checking my feet were in the right position.
We continued the dance when a very flustered Taylor ran in.
"I'm so sorry!" She panted. Her face was red and she was out of breath clearly from rushing.
"It's ok Taylor, you just won't have time to stretch, go join Jim for the last section of the dance but watch out for the others."
We carried on dancing whilst Taylor weaved through us all and made her way to Jim. She linked with him and continued with the dance.
We practiced four times and then began filming. The camera nerved me knowing millions of people were behind that lense. We filmed the first take which went fairly smoothly but we knew we would have to do it a few more times.
"Are you ok?" Joe asked in between takes.
"Fine," I smiled through gritted teeth.
"You tensed up when they said action, don't worry about the camera. Imagine it's your mom! That's how we got Josh over being nervous of the camera."
Joes advice actually helped me. I tried to picture my mom standing there cheering me on as she would if I had a competition.
The second take went a lot better. I had more confidence around the camera and didn't see it as a portal to the world. However when I thought of it in that light, it scared me.
In total we filmed that scene 4 times so they could cut it and edit it to pick the best sections.
"Ok, now Gigi practice your solo twice then we will film it. Everyone else take a break."
Me and Joe took two directors chairs and sat just off set watching Gigi do her solo.
"I still think it should have been you," Joe whispered.
"Oh shush, Gigi is amazing I could never do a better job." I brushed it off.
"You could," he tapped my leg encouragingly.
We sat in silence for a moment watching her practice her solo when something made us jump out of our thoughts.
A small scream came from the other side of the studio. Gigi stopped dancing and James paused the music.
"Taylor are you ok?" We heard Jim'a voice sounding panicked.
Me and Joe jumped from our seats and quickly ran over to Taylor who was sat on the floor with a few tears rolling down her face.
"My ankle," she murmured through cries.
"What did you do?" James asked as he knelt down beside her to have a look.
"I was stretching on one leg and lost my balance," she sobbed.
"It's ok, I'm just going to gently touch it in different places and I want you to tell me if it hurts ok?"
"Ok,"
He began to touch around different parts of her ankle starting with on top then around her foot then towards the side.
As he neared the ankle bone she began wincing, then crying harder until she was pushing his hand away in pain. It was swelling and slowly getting bigger.
"I think it might be broken," he whispered to Jim, however the rest of us heard except for Taylor who was crying in pain.
"I'll drive her to hospital, I haven't got a partner so I can't dance anyway," Jim smiled.
They helped her to his car and they made their way to hospital. The rest of us were quite unsure what to do. We were a person down and Jim and Taylor obviously couldn't do their individual partner section.
Gigi finished filming her solo while the rest of us were texting and ringing Jim to see if he had made it to the hospital.
"I'm so glad you didn't get injured," Joe smiled at me. "What would I have done?" He laughed.
I was glad I didn't get injured too, I would have hated to miss out on the music video. After all I had learned to love everyone there so if I did all the work and then didn't get the reward at the end- that would have been a shame.
"Ok guys, looks like filming is going to be delayed for a bit," James said, we all sighed. "But we are going to do individual partner bits now- who wants to start. I suggest Gigi and Caspar go last so you have time to rest after the solo," James explained.
Me and Joe looked at each other as though to ask if we should go first. We both nodded smiled and then put our hands up. James's attention diverted to us when he realised we had volunteered to go first.
"Perfect, Chloe and Joe come and get ready, thank you."
We headed into the space and got in position.
"Ready?" Joe whispered.
"Ready," I assured him.
We began the dance the majority of the time looking into each others eyes except for the sections when we didn't face each other. The dance went well and we both remembered it perfectly.
I was proud of Joe in a weird sort of way, he had really tried his best even though he wasn't a dancer - he made it look so easy.
The dance finished and everyone behind the camera began clapping even James.
"That was amazing guys," he smiled. Me and Joe looked at each other and he put his arm around me tighter. "You have a real connection when you dance." James explained making me blush a little.
"It's not me! It's Chloe that looks good so you take your eyes off me!" He laughed.
"No, you're perfect!" I replied.
"I think it's ready to film!" James said. Me and Joe nodded at each other in reassurance. We got in our starting positions and prepared ourselves to start.
"Lights," James said and one of the technicians switched on the disco ball and the smoke machine.
"Camera," the camera person put his thumbs up to James. The camera still made me nervous but I continued following Joes advice.
"Action."
