I woke up when my alarm went off. I quickly shut it off so it wouldn't wake anyone else up. I went to my closet. Hmmm. What should I wear? Maybe something a little fancy. I picked out a red and black flowery dress. It had no shoulders and was mid-thigh. I paired it with some simple black flats. I took a quick shower.

I got dressed. I straighten my hair. I put on light makeup. I then eat a quick breakfast. No one was awake, so I sneak out and drove to work. I got a coffee for Alison, the coffee person at the book store. Natalie was upstairs sleeping still. I quickly put back all the returned books. I tidied up some shelves. I vacuum the floor really quickly. It was still 10 minutes before open.

So I organized the counter. I took out Hush, Hush. I'm in love with that book. I then counted the money and made sure we had some change. I put the rest in the safe. I then decided I would open up 5 minutes early. Not that it would make a huge difference. Natalie didn't care as long as someone was there working.

Alison decided she would play some music. Her and I had similar taste in music, so I didn't mind. She put on some NeverShoutNever. Some people started coming in before church. We were one of 2 shops that actually sell coffee. The coffee shop being the other one. We quickly got over that. Natalie came down to chat.

"Hey girls."
"Hi." Alison said.
"Hey." I said.
"Where's Bailey?" Natalie asked.
"At therapy."
"Opps. I forgot."
"I almost did too." Alison said. Alison and Bailey got along. But not like Natalie and Bailey.
"Oh, Alison. My grandson is here. The one I told you about."
"Awesome. I see he isn't very much a early riser like you."
"No, he is. He is currently out for his morning jog. He should be here any minute."
"Okay."
"I'm sorry, Vanessa for neglecting you yesterday. I was just so excited about Damon coming."
"I didn't even notice." I said, giving her a smile. I know that she was really excited so I didn't mind.
"You're a sweetheart."

Alison then told Natalie about how college was going. I get back into Hush, Hush. The bell must have rang and I didn't notice because I suddenly heard Damon talking. I was in the middle of a page so I tried to finish it as fast as possible.

"She doesn't even look up." I heard Damon say.
"She's in love with her books. Especially that one. I think that's the fourth time she's read it." Alison said, teasingly. I finished my page.
"Actually, Allison, if you paid more attention you would know it is my sixth time reading it." I gave a teasing smile.
"Well sixth. My bad." She said, with one of her own smiles.
"I forgive you."
"Good."
"Girls. I swear you too." Natalie said, jokingly.
"Swear what?" Allison asked, with an innocent smile.
"Ugh. I give up on you two."

Damon laughed at the scene in front of him. "I can see why Natalie likes it here better than back...." It seemed he was about to tell a secret.
"Hush, young boy." Natalie apparently didn't want us to know about whatever Damon was going to say.
"Just kidding. You know I wouldn't do that to you."
"Well your father would if he would mean me coming back. But I can't you know the deal."

It seemed they were going into private matters so I stopped listening. I went back to my book. In the middle of me reading, I see Damon walk over to the counter.
"So the nerd goes back to reading." He comments.
"Yep, it's a good book."
"Let me see." He looks over at the book. He then decides to read out loud. "'You smell good, too,' said Patch

'It’s called a shower.' I was staring straight ahead. When he didn’t answer, I turned sideways. 'Soap. Shampoo. Hot water.'

'Naked. I know the drill.'"

I blushed that he decided on that quote to read.
"Well no wonder its good." He said with a laugh.
"That's not what it is about. He's a flirt, that's all there is to it."
"Well let me find a better quote." He looked in the book for a little bit. Then he spoke another quote. One of my favorites. I had it highlighted.
