This is a story about The Chosen One, Jacob Lynch, and his rise to stardom in the WWE. On the way to becoming one of the all time greats, he has to endure lots of torment, triumph, and destruction, but he never gives up. Enjoy.
I am officially cleared to compete, and I managed to get back in shape within 4 months, instead of 6-8. A lot has changed since I've last been in a WWE ring. WWE has reverted back to the old brand split format, which gives more superstars an opportunity to shine. Tonight on RAW, there is a fatal-4-way match to crown a new WWE Universal Champion, after Finn Balor relinquishing it due to injury after winning it last night at SummerSlam. Basically the same scenario I was in back in April. The participants are Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and myself, as a surprise.
The crowd pops loudly when my music hits. This is one comeback that no one could predict. Mainly because I begged WWE to keep my return low-key. It makes the moment more memorable.
I am fighting with renewed passion now. I'm not the same man I was 4 months ago.
Turns out, I am not the only one making a return in this match. Triple H comes back after losing the WWE World Championship to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, and he hasn't been seen since. He Pedigrees Roman Reigns, and then drags Roman in the ring. He picks up Seth Rollins who is laying on the outside and tells him to pin Roman. Seth quickly gets in the ring to eliminate him. Now it is down to Seth and I; Kevin was eliminated by Roman earlier. Triple H picks me up and has everyone thinking that he is going to Pedigree me so Seth could win, but then turns around and Pedigrees Seth, which has everyone in shock. I quickly cover Seth.
"1.....2.....3!!!!!!!!!!" The match is over and I am the new WWE Universal Champion. I am totally in shock because I didn't know that this was going to happen. Triple H takes the title from Mick Foley and gets back in the ring to help me up and hand it to me. When I grab the title, Triple H raises my hand in victory. This is my fourth championship won in WWE (NXT Tag Team Champion, NXT World Champion, WWE Intercontinental Champion, and now the WWE Universal Champion.)
There is speculation as to whether this is a heel turn for me, now that I am on HHH's side. Wonder what made him change his mind so quick about me.
September 5, 2016, Monday Night RAW
As RAW opens, Triple H comes out to throw me a huge celebration party, with Mick & Stephanie with him. My music hits and I get in the ring to clear some things up, with confetti and balloons coming down from the top of the arena.
"To get to the top of this industry, you have to do whatever it takes to win. I did that last week, where I defeated three other guys to become the second, and longest reigning, Universal Champion! Triple H, thank you for giving me this opportunity. To those "keyboard warriors" on the internet moaning and complaining, you will never understand why I sided with Triple H last week, because you are feeble-minded. I did what I had to do to get to the top and now that I am the top champion in this company, not Dean Ambrose, no one will EVER take this title from me!"
All of a sudden, Mick Foley accuses Stephanie for setting up the controversial ending of the match last week with HHH. She fires back at him in her signature yelling voice, telling him that she had nothing to do with it.
"Mick, Mick, Mick, as much as you want to believe the opposite, he deserves it more than anyone else back there. Yeah, I know we had our differences in the past, but that is the past. This is a new era, and the new era has a new champion. A champion that will go down in history as one of the all-time greats." -Triple H
Seth Rollins comes out, to an unexpected pop, and he is looking for answers.
"How could you, Hunter (Triple H), after everything we've been through? Stephanie, don't think for one second, that you can fool me by saying that you had nothing to do with it. I WILL claim what is rightfully mine!" -Seth Rollins
"Well, Seth, you just gave me a great idea. At our first RAW-only exclusive PPV of the year, Clash of Champions, the WWE Universal Championship will be defended. Seth, you will face off against Sami Zayn and Chris Jericho in our main event later on tonight, a Falls Count Anywhere Triple Threat Match. The stipulation is that whoever wins, gets to go on to Clash of Champions to face Jacob Lynch, the Universal Champion. Have a nice day!" -Mick Foley
I hold my title up in the air, as Seth stares maliciously at it.
It's main event time and I am doing guest commentary, which means unfortunately, I have to hear Michael Cole & Byron Saxton make idiotic comments. Corey Graves, on the other hand, knows what he is talking about. Seth is in the ring, going to work on Chris Jericho, and he yells loudly, so that I can hear him.
"THAT TITLE IS MINE, YOU HEAR ME?"- Seth Rollins
He always feels like he's entitled to everything. Chris Jericho rolls him up, but he manages to kick out. Sami Zayn gets back in the ring and unleashes a flurry of hard right punches, which eventually has him groggy in the corner. Sami rushes to the opposite corner and then proceeds to hit Jericho with the Helluva Kick, but Jericho is able to get out of the way. Jericho runs to the rope and back and hits Sami with a running Codebreaker. Sami is down. Meanwhile, Seth tosses Jericho out of the ring and tries to pin Sami, but fails miserably.
Seth is shocked. (See facial expression)

Jericho waits outside of the ring until the perfect moment. Seth sees Jericho and attempts to do a Tope Suicida, but Jericho catches him mid-air with a Codebreaker. Jericho pins Seth successfully. He is now the new #1 Contender for my Universal Championship. Should be a great match, glad I don't have to face Seth again.
I have a lot of respect for Chris Jericho, one of the greatest heels we have today.
