Chapter 2: Lexi's POV
When I get to school I'm greeted by a screaming Rachel running towards me with open arms ready to give me one of her rib-crushing hugs. Rachel is on the cheer squad with me and we have been friends ever since our diaper days. She is practically a sister I never had and the daughter my mum has always wanted.
"omg, I feel like I haven't seen you in like . . . forever" Rachel squeals
"um I saw you yesterday when you came by to help me chooses an outfit," I say giving her the 'what is wrong with you' look.I find that I've been giving her that look more and more each day.
"dah I know that that's why I said 'IT FEELS LIKE'" she responds
"okay... so where are Chelsea and Poppy?" I ask realising that they aren't with her"oh umm, poppy's off to get the principle to change around her timetable because she saw that she had biology with Chris and of course that can't be you know the whole ex's in the same class bullshit"
I nod remembering that lovely Chris who broke Poppy's heart, note the sarcasm in my voice.
"and I saw Chelsea go off with some guy" she shrugs "oh and I think Patrick said something about being near your locker"
"oh okay, I'm gonna go find them" I give her a hug goodbye which she returns with another one of her rib-crushing hugs. "I'll see you at lunch okay"
And with that, I'm off to look for my handsome boyfriend, Patrick. We have been dating for around two years now and I couldn't be happier. He is the school's golden boy, he aces all his classes, is the captain of the soccer team and is the school's hottest eye candy.
I met Chelsea through him and am now super close friends with her. If you don't know her you might find her a bit mean which she can be sometimes but all she does is tell you the truth to your face instead of going behind your back. I've known her for around two years, almost as long as I've known Patrick for.
When I go to my locker to put away some things from my bag I find Patrick there waiting for me. I greet him with a kiss and then open my locker to put in some of the books that I don't really need.
"so how are you babe," Patrick says when I close my locker and turn to him
"well I'm good, can't wait till cheer practice, we have regionals this year and I'm so excited" he nods and discretely rolls his eyes, he doesn't really like me talking about cheer and all that stuff, he finds it 'too girly' and 'too boring' but I don't mind not talking about cheer with him. "um so how are you?"
"I'm great you know I have soccer to focus on this year and being captain is a lot of pressure so I might be a bit busy but u don't mind do you?" he asks
"oh no um yeah I know what you mean" I say a little disappointed
"okay cool, well... I have to go to class" he gives me a kiss and walks away
On my way to class, I find Poppy coming my way and I give her a big hug. She is super smart and is amazing at debating. She managed to get the school to get All four of my friend's lockers to be right next to each other which never happens. I've been friends with her since the beginning of high school and we have just become the best of friends ever. She is also on the cheer squad with Chelsea, Rachel and me. That was I guess the thing that brought us all closer together as friends.
"so are you excited, we have regionals coming up" she squeals in delight "I just can't wait"
"yeah I'm super excited, though I'm a bit nervous as well" actually that's an understatement of the century, I'm freaking out, if we make it we will be going to nationals which we missed out on last year. "oh how did the talk with Mr Andrew go, you know changing the classes"
"Oh yea that was great I'm now in class with Chelsea instead of him so yeah"
"Cool, okay I got to go and get to class before the Hallways get too crowded, see you at lunch?"
"Yep," she says popping the P
I make my way to homeroom in G08 and am surprised to see that half the class is already there, normally I'm one of the first people, I guess they all want to get better seats because they'll be there for the rest of the year. Looking around I notice that the whole of the back row is empty which is perfect cause that is where I like to sit. I decide to sit in the back row with the seat right next to the window so I get to look out at the beautiful view.
