Don't let me down

"Friends"

It's the end of the school year, all of the cherry trees were blossoming, Their pretty pink flowers were flowing in the wind it was a nice warm day. I was walking to school with my best friend Chieko Karo, we've been friends since elementary school.

"Hey mei, what are you going to do this summer?" Chieko Asked me.

"I don't really know... I might go to my dads for the summer, my mom and step dad are going over seas, so they want me to go to my dad's... What about you?" My mom married my step dad last spring, it was fun and all but i don't see him as my dad, dad.

"Well... My mom got a new jod." She responded, Chieko's mom has been  unable to get a jod for a year, her mom has brain cancer... Things have had been getting better, her mom now can drive her car again and take there dog on runs again too, i really hope that she gets better...

Really? Is she getting better?" I asked excitedly.

"She is but they don't think that its going to last..." Chieko Looked at the old roughed road... That we we're walking on." They think shes going to die this summer..." Chieko Looked up at me, she had tears in her eyes, her eyes we're red and puffy. You can tell that she's been crying for a while...

"H-hey... Its going to be ok... I won't let her die!" I yelled. How could i let her die? She's all Chieko has... She can't loose another parent, her dad die becuase of a drunck driver when Chieko was 10.

"It's fine you don't have too..." Chieko Mumbeled.

"No, i do. I Can't watch this happen to you again." I stated.

"Mei..." Chieko Wispered as we walked through the front gate of our school.

When we got to our lockers we split ways, i went to all of my class of the day, it was same as all ways. The bell rang, everyone ran out the front doors screaming and yelling like little kids when they see candy. I was the last one to leave. I walked home, as soon as i walked in the front door i went to my room. Every thing was packed and ready to go. I packed every thing last night befor i went to school. I grabed my stuff and started to walk to my bed room door. I stopped and turned around, and took one last look at my room.

"Honey are you coming? Your dad will be wait for you at the train station." My mom yelled.

"Ok! Im comeing." I answered, as i walked down the stairs.

"Ok, do you have every thing?" My mom asked.

"Yes mom you've asked me this like ten times last night." I informed her.

"Ok... Well, i love you honey." My mom said as she went to hug me.

"I love you too mom, its not like we're never going to see each other again." I assured her.

"I now but, im not going to see you for the whole summer! Thats so long..." My mom sighed.

"Ok see you at the end of summer! I yelled as i walked down our driveway.

The sun was just starting to set as i got to the train station. I payed for my ticket and waited for my train. It was a nice day. no one was really there just me and this guy, he had his hood over his face so i chouldn't see his face. He had a big bag over his shoulder... by the time to the train arrived there was alot more people. Everyone rushed into the train when the doors opened, i found a set and got comfortable for the long ride that was ahead of me.
