It was after third period.
A young girl stood at her locker, smiling at the boy next to her.
The boy looked up at her, with sadness in his heart. She could see it. She could see what he was about to say.
Realizing this, she opened her locker and began to take out her books. He began to say it. Those words no girl in a relationship will ever want to hear.
She began to shake.
She wasn't unprepared for this- she had seen it coming. Yet, she was still shaken.
After he had finished speaking, she hoarsely replied, "Ok," and walked down the hallway, tears stinging her eyes, but not falling.
She held them back.
She told herself he wasn't worth it.
It was after third period, and a young girl walked broken heartedly down the stairs, trying to hide the pain from her friend standing next to her.
