Elena's POV

There was no way to comprehend what I had just heard. I knew he was telling the truth and I believed every word he said, but how was it possible? How could someone like him exist?

After a minute of being held in his arms, I decided to finally ask.

"How is it possible," I mumbled against his toned chest.

"It's not just me, Elena," He dodged my question.

"There's more of us, we're everwhere," he continued.

I took a few steps back from him unlatching myself from his hold. My head tilted slightly and I looked at him, not knowing what to do.

"You can ask me questions if you'd like," he sat back down and motioned me to sit next to him. I quickly obliged and re wrappped the blanket around me again.

"So this is why your so cold, it's not just a myth?" I asked as my first question.

"It's not just a myth," he chuckled slightly at my remark.

"And blood, you drink it?" I feared the answer, but I had to know.

"I would never hurt you Elena," he started.

" I know that, but the blood, human blood, do you drink it?"

" Yes," he replied quietly sounding ashamed.

"Do you kill them?"

"No Elena." he casually answered.

"Are you lying?" I pushed.

"I'm different than most vampires, Elena. I don't hurt humans or drink from the vein. I drink from blood bags, It's against my family to hurt humans," he acknowledged.

"Your family? I thought you only had a brother?" I was more bewildered than ever now.

"I come from a long line of vampires, a strong batch of them. They've all moved on now, gone somewhere without contacting me, they mine as well be dead, some might be. I only keep in touch with my brother Niall, as I told you," He reached between us to hold my hand.

" I still don't understand, you said it's against your family to hurt humans, how?"

" It's just a rule everyone in the family has to follow, ordered by my father," He looked down at our connected hands and smiles timidly.

"Don't you want to hurt people? don't you smell their blood?" I grilled.

" I don't want to hurt people Elena, I never have. Yes I do smell their blood. It's tempting, but you get used to it."

"When you ran away from me before, is that why?" I was starting to understand slowly, things definately made more sense than before.

"Yes," He inhaled deeply. "Your blood...it's different. Like nothing I've ever encountered. It baffles me, really. My father always told me, each vampire finds a blood that is so hard to resist it hurts, a blood that's like a high. I never knew what he meant until yesterday," he spoke. It was all coming together now, I understood.

"You could smell my blood, you smelt it before you came into the bathroom, didn't you? That's how you found me,"

"Yes,"

"Were you going to hurt me?" My eyes locked with with his mosy ones.

"When I saw you crying, something changed. I didn't want to hurt you, Elena. I don't want to hurt you,"

Harry's POV

"There's one more thing I need to tell you," I stated, rubbing my thumb over her hand. She nodded, pushing me to go on.

"There's gifts you get as a vampire, some individual, some universal. One's speed running, as you know. All of us have that. Not everyone has an special gift, but I do. Mine is healing," I told her. Her face instantly changed to confused to understanding.

"My cuts?" She questioned.

"You weren't going crazy," I answered trying to hold back the small laugh in my throat.

"Thank you Harry," she said sweetly taking her unoccupied hand up to my face to trace my jaw.

"If you don't do it anymore, i won't have to heal you," i tell her, stating the obvious.

"It's not that easy," she fires back as I detatched our hands and catch her wrist in one motion.

I stare at the prominent scars that cover her wrist. I could cry at this moment, but instead i dip my head down and begin to kiss each imperfection there.

There was something about them that was beautiful, though. They were a part of her, which made them special. Each one had a different depth and a different story. As I ran over each single scar with my fingertips, i hoped Elena would tell me what was behind them.

I started to outline one particular scar more than once. Something drew me into it. As i felt up and down it's deepness, Elena began to talk.

"That was the first scar I've ever made," her words stumbled out slowly, I could tell she was holding back tears.

"I was nine, I think, It's all kind of a blur now, It's been awhile." One of the tears that threatened to come out before now trickled down her cheek.

I sat up straight and tucked my thumb under her chin and tilted it up, holding it in place. Soon enough, our lips were moving in sync again.
