"I'm sorry jack, but I can't come over my mom said your a bad influence." Harley said into the phone.

"Me?! A bad influence?!" He cried.

"Yeah, I dunno...gotta go, bye!" She said

"WAIT!!!" He screamed, making Harley jump back from the phone.

"Just sneak out and meet me at the treehouse. Kay?" He said hastily.

"Ugh. Fiiiiine." She groaned, hanging up.

She didn't know why she kept hanging out with such a boy. All he did was get in trouble. Especially at school. But then again, she felt sorry for him. His parents hit him a lot.

She ran to the kitchen and packed two sandwiches.

She felt like a big kid when she did stuff like this, she acted like she hated it, but she actually kinda liked it.

She stuffed the sandwiches in a ziploc bag and ran out the front door. She hopped on her bike and started toward the woods that grew right of her neighborhood.

She peddled faster and faster, wanting to have fun with jack despite what her parents thought of him.

She screeched to a holt in a little dirt opening in the woods where the treehouse was. They built it together one summer with plywood and a lot of old doors they found in the junkyard. She didn't know why, but he called it they're "hideout"

And he was always obsessing over this character named "batman."
She didn't know if it was an imaginary friend or maybe some bully at school.

She walked toward the ladder and started climbing. She had no clue what he wanted this time, but she hoped it was something cool like dissecting a cat or something.

As her head submerged into the small little room lit with Christmas lights, she saw him sitting in the corner, with his arms wrapped around his legs. And of course, wearing his bright green baseball cap with his purple shirt. He loved purple.

"Oh hey!" He said getting up to his  knees. She noticed a deep purple spot on his jaw. But she knew better than to say anything about it.

"Hey!" She said climbing in and sitting down across from him. She handed him a sandwich that he always told her to bring.

He didn't hesitate to stuff it down his throat within minutes.

When he was finally done, he wiped his mouth and sighed happily.

He stared at her for what seemed like forever, a small grin playing on his red lips. She still couldn't figure out why a boy would want to wear lipstick. Maybe that's why he gets bullied.

"What?" She asked, not getting what was so funny.

"Wanna know why I asked you to come over?" He asked excitedly.

"Yes." She said smiling.

"This!" He chimed, reaching in his pocket and pulling out a ripped piece of a paper that was folded. He handed it to her.

She opened it carefully and saw two grown ups kissing for a cologne ad. She didn't know what "cologne" was but she guessed it was some sort of stuff that made people kiss.

"Eww why'd ya give this to me?" She asked scrunching her nose.

"Cause I wanna try it!" He snapped, crossing his arms.

She leaned in close. "Only grown ups do that." She whispered, as if someone could actually hear her.

"So? We're 7! That's basically grown!" He said throwing his hands in the air.

She looked down at the paper.

"I don't wanna..." She said under her breath.

He frowned and got up, walking to the other corner of the wobbly treehouse and grabbing a sharp stick he sharpened with a rock.

"I'll stab you." He said holding the stick up.

She gasped and scooted away. "Don't! Or I'll tell!" She said furrowing her brows.

"Then kiss me!" He warned, shaking the stick in her direction.

She felt herself blushing like crazy. "I don't wanna." She sulked, playing with one of her pigtails.

He dropped the stick and squatted right in front of her, before pulling his hand back and coming down on her face. Of course it wasn't hard cause he was only 7.

She gasped and held her face, looking at him with wide eyes.

"I'm telling!" She cried, turning to the ladder.

He yanked her back by her pigtail. "NO YOU'RE NOT!!!!" He screamed, which frightened her.

He watched her scared expression. He liked it. But he was confused why she wasn't crying.

"Ok, I'll kiss you." She said, her voice cracking a little.

"Ok." He said, sighing in satisfaction.

She got to her knees and so did he. They didn't really know what they were in for, but they were gonna do something that they knew they shouldn't.

"Stick your lips out." He demanded.

She stuck her lips out like a duck, making googly eyes as well.

"No! Like this!" He said before puckering his lips.

She nodded and did as he said.

He smiled and nodded. He was now getting a little nervous, but like his dad always said:
"What the hell are you scared about?! Be a man!"

He puckered his lips as well, and leaned in, he didn't know why but he felt the need to close his eyes, although Harley's was open.

Their lips connected for a brief second and they pulled away quickly.

"Ew cooties!" He whined, wiping his mouth furiously, but his legs felt like jelly.

"Don't be such a baby!" Harley said giggling. "I kinda liked it." She said blushing and looking down.

He raised an eyebrow. "Really?"

"Yeah, you're cute jack." She said reaching out and squeezing his cheek.

He blushed hard and smacked her hand away. "I'm not cute!" He exclaimed.

"Yes you are!" She said smiling.

"Whatever let's go kill a dog or something." He grumbled, getting up and heading toward the ladder.

"Ok!" Harley said, following him.
