Sarah' pov
Today is my first day of high school. Westbrook High School. The oldest school in the district, and the one everyone talks about. I was excited and nervous at the same time, but at least I have classes with some of my friends.
I was the first one up today, which is a first because Rachel and Liz are always up early watching tv. I even had breakfast and put on eyeliner and mascara.
"Let's go girls!" my mom yelled from the doorway. We got in the car and drove off.
"So am I dropping you or the girls off first?" my mom asked.
"You could drop the girls off first" my mom nodded and continued driving.
I used to go to the school that Rachel and Liz go to now, and it's just 2 streets past my high school. My mom drove by the high school and i could feel the anxiety in my chest rise, even though she wasn't dropping me off first.
"By girls! Love you, have a great day!" she yelled at them as they were walking away.
"Love you too" they mouthed back at my mom, which made me laugh.
It seemed like my mom literally drove 100 miles per hour because we were already at the school in 2 minutes.
"Alright, have a good day, and don't get involved in the drama" I was so nervous that all I could do was nod.
"I love you" was the last thing I heard, but I closed the door too quickly to respond.
I started walking around the school to look for my friends, and I just realized how big this school actually was, and I was shocked. I found a couple of people I knew, so I figured I must be close to my actual friends.
"Hey loser" my best friend Amanda called from behind.
"Hey" I said feeling a little better.
"Isn't this school awesome?!" she was really excited, so I just laughed.
"I mean I-" I was interupted by the bell.
"That's the warning bell, well I'll see you later" I waved and started walking to my first class, drama.
I followed the signs that showed where my class was but the door of the auditorium was locked. I waited outside with a bunch of other people who I assume are in my class until the teacher finally opened the door.
"Goodmorning, I hope you all had a great summer, now if you all could just follow me up the stairs, then we could get this day started" the lady who I guess was Ms.Bates said and started walking up the stairs.
She held the door open for all of us and when I walked in, I was amazed. The classroom was beautiful and it actually seemed like it was an audition room.
"Here is your guys' schedules so you remember where you have to go today" she handed is a little paper that had our classes and their location.
After drama, I had math. I had to walk all the way across the campus fast, just to get to my class in 7 minutes. It was ridiculous how many students were walking up the stairs because there was a lot.
I sat at a desk close to all the people I went to school with in 8th grade and waited for the bell to ring. Once the bell rang, the teacher came in and introduced herslef and the course and handed us all a pre-test.
I got the test and looked at it for a good minute and almost cried. My math teacher didn't teach us any of this last year and I could feel my anxiety return. Then I started thinking about life. I kept thinking that if I fail this test then I won't graduate high school.
I tried to shake it off and started my test. Most of the questions on this test I just guessed on. The bell rang and I didn't even finish this test.
First day of school and I didn't even finish a test they gave us, I thought. I hope this day will get better.
