I was hoping this day wouldn't come. The day where there'll be lives lost. Riley says that this is necessary. But I don't see the point. I'm not a big fan of Riley, in fact I hate him. He thrust me into this life. A life where my skin is rock solid and ice cold. My throat burns and I crave the one thing that disgusts me. Blood. But the worst of all is that my heart beat is gone. I've become a monster. A vampire. The day I woke up from the change I saw tons of people eating other people. Someone was standing beside me getting ready to feed and I thought I'd ask them what's happening. But when I spoke, I killed everyone. Just the one small breath I used to form a word shattered thousands of vampires. So now I don't speak. Afraid I can't control this so called "gift" of mine. Right now, I'm in an alley where dead body's lay and cars are aflame listening to Riley rile everyone up over the war to come. I sighed, annoyed with Riley. He keeps saying that this enemy clan, the Cullen's, have killed our people. That they are bad and will continue to kill us if we don't put and end to it. I think it's complete crap. I've never seen the Cullen's harm any one of us in anyway. I've seen our own harm each other. But I've never seen the vampires with golden eyes lay a hand on any of us. If they were so evil, as Riley claims, wouldn't they have put an end to us already? I think Riley is hiding something. I watch as Riley hands out a red sweater and everyone passes it around, taking a whiff of it to get its scent. When it got to me I furrowed my brow. The scent smelled really good no denying it, but it was human. What does one human have to do with this? I looked up and caught Riley's eye. He sped over to me and grabbed the silky sweater.

He looked down at me, "I expect to see you on the front line. You are of great use to me."

I frowned but nodded at his words knowing that if I didn't, I would be killed. I know that with my gift I can kill him easily just by speaking. But then I'd have no one. No one to help me adapt to this life. So I held my tongue knowing that, as much as I despise it, I need Riley.

Riley smiled at my obedience, "very good, everyone were moving out follow me!"

I sped up to the front with Riley and followed him across the cement stained in blood and broken glass. We kept to the shadows avoiding the sunlight and the human eye. Hours have past until we made it to the water. We dragged are feet through the waves sinking deeper and deeper until we were fully submerged. I looked around the murky water to see the other vampires swimming beside me. We swam for hours until we emerged in front of a forest. The green trees moaning in the wind as if they were shouting a battle cry. When I stepped out of the water I wrung out my shirt even though the weight of my drenched clothes didn't bother me at all. I watched the water drip from my shirt. I shook it watching as it dried with how fast I moved my arms.
I heard Riley's voice off in the distance but didn't pay much mind to it until I looked up and saw him leave in a different direction. That's odd, where's he going? Oh well, let's get this over with. I checked my phone that I placed in my pockets waterproof depths. The screen came to life and I smiled in relief making my way into the woods with everyone else.
