Hey guys! This is my first real fan fiction. Tips and ideas are greatly appreciated.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Director Coulson was sitting in his office messing around with some of his old spy tech when the phone started ringing. It was the middle of the afternoon so it wasn't unusual.

"Hello?" Coulson answered.

"Director Coulson! How are you?"

"General Talbot?"

"Yeah, I've got a question for you, well I'm more of telling you." Talbot said, "President Ellis wants your rag-tag S.H.I.E.l.D to go public."

"You can't be serious." Coulson said.

" I am. He says that the world knows about Inhumans, so they deserve to know who is stopping them."

Coulson took a deep breath. He knew that this would eventually happen. The new S.H.I.E.L.D would have to go public eventually. He just didn't want it to happen, because he knew once it went public, he could no longer be the director because, well, the world thinks he's dead. More important, the Avengers think he's dead.

"Talbot you know the Avengers think I'm dead...right? If we go public, I can no longer be the director."

"I've already solved that problem. There's a new director and you will meet him in," he paused as if to look at a clock, "two minutes." Talbot said before he hung up the phone. Coulson sighed and buried his face in his hands.

Someone knocked on the door. "Coulson?" It was May. "There's a government plane that has requested to land in our hangar."

"Let them in. I know who it is." Coulson answered.

"Care to share who it is?"

"Later."

Phil and May walked side by side to the hangar to meet the new director. Coulson could already tell he wasn't going to like him.

Sorry this chapter is kinda short. I like to write smaller chapters so I can get chapters out faster. And my next idea seemed more fitted in a different chapter.

Hope you are enjoying it so far.
