He dodged the first swing I'd made at him with the chains I'd pulled from the walls. But the second, to my advantage, he didn't.

I managed to knock him on the side of his head with the next swing, the smell of blood tinted the air. It's sweetness even more pronounced now that it was drawn.

Good, I got him hard with the chain.

Off his balance and grabbing the side of his head, I took the opportunity to wrap the chains around his throat, like it'd been a lasso and he a bull.

I yanked on it until I heard them grind dangerously against one another, then pounced on his back for a better pull and to stay out of his reach.

He struggled for a while and I thought I had him, until he slung me up and over him and I went crashing into one of the cave walls, bringing some of the stone down with me.

I ignored the pain and charged at him without a second thought of hesitation, which was good, because it wasn't what he'd expected for me to do.

I took him to the ground, pinning his thick arms under my now muscle-bound legs, hoping the rush of strength, and what I like to call adrenaline crack, would be enough to hold him.

I jabbed my left fist into his jaw, satisfied when I heard a crack, proceeding to swing my right one, hoping that'd be the one to knock him out, but only managing to get a swear out of him.

"That's enough!" He yelled.

"Why are you here?!" I socked him, this time noting the hair that tangled briefly between the crevices of my fingers. He had a beard, and it was nothing close to short.

"I told you why!"

I punched him again. "You know what I mean, why are you here for me? And don't be a wise guy, I have very little patience for those lately!"

"You're the only one who can make my life right, you have to come with me."

I punched him again. "What is it with guys trying to run off with me? Hello, I have a boyfriend. And even if I didn't, I'm sure kidnapping isn't the first route to go."

"That's enough." He said again and before I knew it, the bearded man flipped me over, pinning me under him.

I immediately began to thrash and go crazy under his hold, feeling more uncomfortable than threatened by feeling the heat of another man so close to me.

"Please, listen to me." He said, face close to mine. "I'm not trying to kidnap you or cause you any harm, Luna. I've come because of Tino."

"Tino?" This changed the direction of the situation just like that, I stopped struggling. "How do you know Tino? Is he okay? I'll kill you if you've hurt him."

"Tino's my friend. He told me I'd find you around this area and I caught a whiff of something powerful, thought I'd come check it out." His tone made it obvious that he was smiling.

"Too bad you didn't run into the Alpha of these lands."

"Pity, you'd like that."

"I'd like it if you'd get your hairy ass off of me."

"Ha, so you can go all MMA on me again? Not likely."

"I'll kill you myself, you know? No need to wait for the Alpha."

He chuckled this time. "I know."

Grey's POV

"Got dammit, she's blocking me!" I slammed my fist down on my desk. "I've checked everywhere."

Kale managed to steer clear of the objects that found themselves in flight, and was even able to talk to me in a cool, leveled tone.
