The middle aged boy walked franticly around the room. "What happens if they come for me again" he thought to himself. The room was dark and empty, and the only exit seemed to be a door that was located on the opposite side of the boys room. "Stop looking at it" the boy yelled as he put his hands to his eyes hoping that it might block his need to see as much as it blocked his view.

He stood there in silence looking as if he were a weeping angel statue. His mouth went from a crud teeth-baring grin to a loose and relaxed one. His hands went slack and fell to his sides. His eyes had a blank but almost sad look to them like a child's doll that were to sit on a shelf and stay there for years just collecting dust.

He looked back at the door this time not worrying about whatever consequences may come from it. There was something different about the door. It was open. The boy stepped back and almost fell back from backing up into his bed. His heart beat faster as he tried to stop himself from breathing heavily but it was no use. The sound of his heartbeat and breathing echoed throughout the room and as seconds went by it got louder and louder.

Then the thing came out of the shadows that were the open doorway. Its body so misshapen, and different that it could not be recognized as human. Its fingers were long and ended in sharp serrated points and the creature was so tall that it had to crouch just to look inside the room, and an eye the size of a tennis ball looked around the room frantically until it landed on the boy. The eye focused on him and he could feel the stare like piercing knives.

They both looked at each other for what seemed like hours. Then it moved its hand and started to go through the doorway. "Stop!" yelled the boy as he backed up even further and hit his back on the wall making a loud thump, which seemed to slow the thing down. Its hand lowered and rested on the carpet, and its body started to ripple like wind over water. This rippling entranced the boy and he began to calm down.

The creature's body was as dark as the rest of the room but seemed to stand out and attract the attention of the boy. Its body swayed slowly back and forth with the ripples that came from its own essence. Then it tried to move into the room again and caused the boy to be broken from his trance.

He started to scream again and this caused the creature to scrape the carpet that lined his floor. "No don't" he started as he put his hands on his ears trying not to hear the sound of carpet tearing. "Just go Xeno" he finally said in between his screaming. He closed his eyes and repeated this over and over again. Finally the boy stopped and opened his eyes. The room was empty and the door was shut. "Was it all a dream" he whispered as he crawled to the edge of the bed looking at the door the whole time.

He got off the bed and slowly went to the door. He looked at it as if it were going to jump out and attack him, but it never did. He looked at it closely and there wasn't anything on the door. There were no signs of anything moving or touching the door. The fear and thought of the creature disappeared as he started to walk back when it happened. Something didn't feel right. His foot had felt something that shouldn't be there. He looked down to see claw marks the size of an oversized grizzly bear's, and they were real, all if it was real.....
