- "I'm sorry..." he mumbled, his embrace growing weaker as he blood loss grew greater. He's been stupid, looked the wrong way for one crucial second.
He hadn't meant to do this to the blond.
- "Leon...?" He exhaled, his body trembling as he held the brunette. His grip was strong but was quickly losing its strength as Squall's body weight began bringing his arms down.
Wide eyes glanced down, the thick crimson liquid making him feel sick to his stomach.
"Lee...- Stop... Stop faking-" he couldn't help the repeating of words, too in shock to take notice.
- The lion wanted to reassure Cloud, so badly, but he no longer seemed to be able to locate his mouth to speak. Everything was getting darker, and taller as well... when had he gone to his knees?
Leon was falling away from the world, piece by piece, but his eyes never left the blue ones overflowing with tears...
He was so sorry.
- Cloud moved down with his husband, gently laying him down on his side,
"Lee- Leon-" he stuttered, disbelief in his voice. His hands snapped up, tapping at his pockets, looking for anything; potions, pheonix downs, elixers... /ANYTHING/.He took out a few of said items, luckily having multiple of each and immediately began fumbling to get bottles open and the legendary bird's feather to do its job on the wounded lion that layed limp before him.
He didn't want to lose Squall. He wouldn't allow it. He refused to let him go.
"-Don't worry. I got you," he promised, putting the rim of a glass bottle against Leon's lips, letting the potion's liquid slip into his mouth.
- By that point, the blond's voice was only a background hum in Leon's head, and he could no longer make out the words.
He could hardly see each other, either. It was dark, but he couldn't tell if his eyes were open or closed.
The feel of something cold pressing against his lips broke through the haze vaguely, and he tried to part them to allow it. He couldn't tell if he'd succeeded, however, starting to feel as though he were drifting far away..
- Cloud had to shift Squall onto his back, supporting him on his lap, keeping him at a slightly elevated angle.
"-Leon. Leon, baby, don't leave me. I'm here. You're okay," he reassured, trying to keep him just a teeny bit conscious so that the Phoenix down wouldn't have to be put to use.
The cold potion was dropped into his mouth, the angle he was in allowing it to slip in his throat with ease. The blonde gently massaged his neck with two fingers to help it down more.
His eyes were teary and irritated from the rare tears that spilled from his eyes.
"-Leon..." He murmured, his forehead resting against his husband's, still giving him the potion.
- Heavy eyelids fluttered slightly open each time his husband murmured his name, but they drooped shut just as quickly each time. He was still conscious, but on a precipice, barely hovering in range of returning.
But Cloud was there... that meant it was safe. Hardly aware of the potion being persuaded down his throat, just able to see his husband's eyes above him, and focusing on that.
Was Cloud crying...?
- Cloud held him gently, not wanting to hurt him any more.
"Squall... Please wake up. Get better..." He whimpered, holding him protectively,
"-I love you... I love you- Don't leave me alone," he breathed, the bottle now empty.
