Chapter Six

I reluctantly walked, my mind like a GPS; taking me to the destination. I was clueless to where I was, yet somehow I'm able to get there. I was currently in a building, a dark one. I could barely see anything, since my senses weren't too good as a newborn.

"Sophia Daniels." A voice called out.

I jumped in surprise, turning all around frantically to see who it was, where the voice came from. My reflexes were super sensitive due to my newly made vampire senses, so I was always on edge, even if my other senses were bad.

"What do you want?" I demanded, still looking around for the source of the voice.

Suddenly, a small and dim light turned on. It was your average horror movie scene. The concrete walls and floor, filled with crevices and cracks. A dim light bulb hanging from the ceiling in the middle, acting like a small spot light; and a man emerging from the shadows.

"I am... Talon." he replied as he came into the light.

He was a tall man, built and pale. His hair was a chestnut brown, a hot mess you could call it. His eyes were the weirdest; one eye a light periwinkle, and the other, a dark navy blue.

"Why..." I breathed. "WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME?!" I shrieked, referring to my new vampire self.

He stood there calmly, as casual as possible, as if I was just plainly talking.

"To protect you."

-

"FUCK!" Kasper swore for the fortieth time, and slammed his fist onto his desk, cracking it a little.

Brayden sighed. "Don't stress yourself, we'll find her." he told him as they found out another body was found.

"For all we know, she could've done this..." he whispered, crumpling the 'Vampyric Times' newspaper he just finished reading as he shook his head.

"We'll just have to wait," Brayden reminded Kasper again. "just wait..."

"I really like her, you know." he mentioned.

"I do know." Brayden replied. "I can see it in your eyes."

-

I laughed humorlessly. "Protect me?" I scoffed. By what? By turning me into a MONSTER? I almost said.

"We are not the ones who are doing this," he solemnly swore. "Scout's honor"

I wasn't about to give away my trust so easily, so I asked him more. "What about all the threats?"

"They were real, I suppose, but not from us." he said.

"Your - er - brother?"

"It was unfortunate that he died; yet I knew he had dark intentions and was only in on the plan to get to you for his other malicious plans."

"All the vampire and demons?"

"Filth," he spat. "I turned them all, while they were wasting the fragile life God gave them. The demons are actually okay if you know how to treat them right."

"Bomb?" was my last question.

"That was real," he paused. "I trusted that you would be able to get rid of it."

"Why?" I asked, looking down. This is too much. This is like starting back at the drawing board, starting at the beginning with nothing.

"The Prophecy." he said casually, as if I knew what he was talking about.
