The steam swirled in the air of the tiled bathroom as Lissa opened the shower door. She grabbed a white towel off of the rack and wrapped it around her body. She stepped over to the mirror and picked up the small blue cloth on the counter, gingerly drying her face with the soft material. She then set to work on applying mascara to her long eyelashes, making her blue eyes appear bigger.
She opened the door and padded across the hallway to her room. Pulling on a pair of faded shorts and a white tank top, she set to work on furiously hand drying her blond hair. After about five minutes her hair seemed as dry as it would be. A knock sounded on her door just then.
"Lissa can i come in?"
"Of course."
Lissa's mother stepped through the doorway and smiled. She seemed excited. "I have a surprise." Lissa smiled. Her mother loved fretting over her daughter. Getting her small tokens wasn't a surprise. "What is it?" She asked.
Her mom sat down at the edge of her black silk bed and motioned for her daughter to follow. Lissa sat next to her mom and turned to face her, curious as to what her mother could be so excited about. Maybe she won the lottery.
"We're going on vacation." Her mother's grin was as wide as the Cheshire Cat's.
Joy and excitement bubbled inside Lissa's stomach. She screamed and threw her arms around her mom. Her mom laughed and hugged Lissa back. "Mom this is amazing. When are we going?"
