HEY!! I'm not dead!! I know it's been forever since I've updated but I'm a month and a half into school and with all the advanced classes I'm taking, things are getting ridiculous. Sorry if you guys have been waiting forever.

On to the story!!

------------------------------------------

When the limo finally rolled around to where the Fall Dance was being held at, everyone was already a bit tired. They had spent the whole ride jamming out to some of the guys' songs. They boys felt a weight lifted off their shoulders. The girls seemed to be finally warming up to them.

The boys got off the limo first, offering their hand to their respective dates to help them out of the limo.

"Why, thank you".

"Thank you."

"Thanks."

Nod.

The couples were thirty minutes late, which, according to the boys, was considered fashionably late.

When they pushed the doors to enter, everyone stopped and stared. They had definitely made an entrance. Most of the girls in the Dragon Force fan club glared holes into the girls heads. Others accepted the fact that they had chosen who they wanted and only admired them from afar.

A man in a tux, came and led them away to a reserved table, holding eight seats.

Once they settled down, food was brought to them. Everyone dug in, except for Lucy.

"You're not gonna eat?" Natsu asked genuinely concerned. Lucy seemed to catch onto his sincerity, which kinda shocked her. When she regained her composure, she gave him an equally sincere smile.

"No, I'm fine. Really. I'm just not hungry right now."

Natsu pushed his pasta towards her. "Well you should eat anyways. You'll get hungry later."

Lucy saw the sincerity in his words and decided to at least eat a little, for Natsu's benefit.

"What's that?" Juvia pointed at the stage, a spaghetti noodle hanging from her lips.

On the makeshift stage, there was a sheet covering something. It was very bumpy which threw them off. One of the teachers, Mr. Wakaba, came up to them.

"That, miss Loxar is a drum set along with two guitars and a microphone stand."

"Why would you have that?" Gajeel asked, a noodle dangling from his mouth.

"Oh! Boys! I didn't notice you there!" He clapped his hands together. "You see, we were wondering if you could play a couple songs for the student body. You know, since you're in our school and everything and the students love you."

You could hear Lucy snort.

The boys all looked at his as if he were crazy. Jellal finally decided to speak. "You know a heads up would've been nice, instead of, you know, springing it on us the day of the dance. When we have dates to keep company."

Levy, always the voice of reason, decided to speak up. "You know, it wouldn't be that bad. I mean, sure, they could've warned you but your making some people happy, right? And besides, you don't have to keep us entertained. We can take care of ourselves."

The boys looked at each other as if silently questioning the others approval. When no one immediately objected, Wakaba took it as a good sign.

"That's great! You guys only have to play the first three songs. The staff already chose the songs. We searched up which ones were your most popular ones and we went with those. You have to be ready by 8:30."

Natsu looked at his watch. It was 8:15. "Oh, you've got to be kidding me," Natsu mumbled under his breath. He ran a hand through his hair and with reluctance, he agreed.

"So, what songs are we supposed to sing?" Gray asked, taking a sip of his water.

Wakaba checked the clipboard he has tucked under his arm. "Well the biggest hit is 'Beat Of My Drum', then it's 'Counting Stars' and then 'Glad You Came'."

The boys looked at each other confused. 'Glad You Came' wasn't their third biggest hit. It was 'IDFC'. When they voiced out their concern, Wakaba answered with a weary smile.

"You see, yes 'IDFC' if you third hit but we needed something that was school appropriate. 'Glad You Came' was right after it so we just decided that was the next best thing."

He checked his watch. "Well, you boys better go ahead and start getting ready. I'll go tell people that you'll be performing and the dance floor is now open."

Once Wakaba was out of ear range, the boys simultaneously groaned. "Do we have to?"

The girls only snickered and shook their head in amusement.

"Yes," they said together. Their tone of voice left no room for arguments. The boys only nodded in acceptance, took of their suit jacket, hung it on their chairs and walked behind the makeshift stage.
