Celeste
Things have been rough at home. Mom and dad were constantly fighting. My brother have been getting into a lot of trouble. And yes, I do have a brother. I didn't go to school today because I feel horrible.
"Just keep your voice down. Our little girl is feeling ill and I don't want her to feel worse." I heard my dad hiss at my mom. Dear dad, I'm not a little girl anymore.
I groaned and pulled the duvet over my head, covering my whole body from head to toe completely. I heard my door creak open and I mentally cursed. Who is it this time?
"Hey sis. How are you feeling?" I heard my brother ask. I sat up and frowned. How does he think I feel? Of course I feel ill!
"I'm feeling like complete sh*t. Thanks for asking." I moaned, tugging the ends of my hair in annoyance. Matt just gives me a smile as he proceeds to sit on the edge of my bed.
Matt is 3 years older than me and he's in college. He wants to be a doctor. "I can see that." He eyes me with fascination. I shot him a deadly glare.
"Then why did you ask?!" I screamed.
Yes, this is me when I'm comfortable with someone. And yes, this is me when I'm sick and annoyed.
"Sorry." He pouts.
I sighed, rubbing my temples. "No, I'm sorry. My headache is getting to me." I scowled at no one and nothing in particular. Matt chuckles, ruffling my hair playfully.
"It's fine, Cel." Matt assures me.
"By the way, I've been meaning to ask you something." I stated.
He raises an eyebrow as his eyes sparkles with curiousity. "What is it?" He questions with a smile.
"Can you please stop making trouble? I know your reasons and I understand them. But it's getting out of hand now, Matt." I told him. He's been causing trouble because he thinks it would avert our parents' attention from fighting. Nothing is changing though.
Matt sighs, closing his eyes in slight irritation. "Fine. Anything for you." He nods, offering me a forced yet gentle smile. I gave him my thanks before laying back on the bed.
"If mom and dad decides to get divorced, I'm living with you. You're an adult now anyways." I half-heartedly joked. There was a possibility that what I was saying would happen. Though I'm wishing it won't.
Matt purses his lips together, unsure of what to say. "I don't think that it's a good idea. I'm not confident that I would be able to provide for the two of us. I wouldn't want to ruin your future, Cel." He explains.
"I can. I will be able to make my own money. We can help each other." I mumbled quietly, but loud enough for him to hear.
Matt just gives me a smile. "Let's not talk about such depressing topics. Rest up so you'll get better, yeah?" Matt says, patting my head. I truly am glad to have Matt as an older brother.
"Yeah. Thanks."
"No problem. I'll be in my room, so just knock if you need anything." He informs me before leaving my room.
I was about to fall asleep when I heard a loud crash downstairs. I brashly opened my door and ran downstairs, fearing that the fight had become more intense. Matt was right behind me.
"What happened?" I quickly asked, my voice unintentionally loud.
There were pieces of glass on the floor. Judging from their position, mom was the one who threw the plate to dad. I grit my teeth, not knowing what to do anymore.
