Snow sat at a table by herself in the corner of the lunch room, reading a book. She was what most people considered unusual. With her pure white hair and black bangs framing her face, most people would agree she was. Her skin was like a porcelain doll. Her plump mouth a deep satin red and her baby blue eyes would light up every time her long, thick eyelashes would look up at the sun. So why was this girl sitting alone?
Nate thought about this as he sat down with his friends who were already throwing pieces of their food at each other. He pulled out his sandwich and began slowly eating it, looking up at Snow every once in awhile, wondering what she was thinking...
Snow noticed the boy... Nate? He kept glancing towards her and with every glance she felt her skin turn red.
"I don't understand why people always have to look at me. Why cant they just leave me alone?" she thought grudgingly, staring at the palms of her hands.
She clenched her fists angrily.
She wished she could be like everyone else... laugh... play...touch and be touched...
"I will never feel a warm touch or be loved by a single person." Tears welled up in her eyes as she thought about her dead parents and the brother she once had.
She remembered the day they died. The world around her becoming dark... Snow came back from the woods from playing and her father went to pick her up like he always would do and suddenly fell to the ground, pale as her own skin and quickly turning purple. Her mother ran out of the house, seeing what had happened and pulled Snow away from the corpse that was her father and she too fell to the ground dead.
Her brother had gone missing that day and so did she...
Nate saw the mysterious girls tears and stood up walking over to her.
"Hey are you OK?" he asked worriedly, his voice soft and even.
Snow jumped as she looked up at him, reality coming back as she looked over his longish black hair swooped to the side, revealing his piercing green eyes. His ear containing a small stud earring. He smiled at her still worried.
"I'm fine." she said briskly, "Just please leave me alone. You do not want to be around me." she warned.
He looked slightly hurt, looking down at the ground before placing his hand on her cheek.
"It's OK. You should have someone to talk to every once in awhile. It's good for the soul." She instantly smacked his hand away, her already pale skin seemed like a sheet of paper as she stood up. she clutched her aching heart, tears falling as she looked at Nate sympathetically.
"I'm so sorry..." She choked out before she ran out of the room.
He's going to die... and there's nothing I can do to stop it...
