I woke up the next day with a pretty big headache. What happened last night? I can't really remember. What I do remember was that my big hatred for Peter Pan had come back. But I had just felt extreme emotions that night, and I was not ready to kill him. At least I didn't feel ready.

I got up from my bed and put my clothes on, then got out of my cabin to see how the ship was doing. Neverland looked amazing, as always, with its shiny trees and mysterious sounds.
The ship looked a mess, though. The floors had spilled pools of beer on them and confetti, together with splatters of food and broken fairy lights.
I sighed and got a mop from nearby. Usually the young pirates had to deal with cleaning, since it should "toughen us up".

As I was cleaning the floors I muttered under my breath how Skandar should've been there cleaning with me. Then I realised I was cleaning everything alone, and I was definitely not doing that. So I left the mop and decided to look for Skandar.

"Skandar!" I called him, walking around the ship. He didn't answer. I went to his room and burst the door open, but he wasn't in there either. I searched in the kitchens... Hook's cabin... The planning room... He was nowhere to be seen.

I was about to give up when I remembered I didn't check Hook's office. There were three reasons to why you would be in there:
You did something bad and you're getting scolded, there's something bad happening and Hook needs your help, or you did something good and Hook's giving you an upgrade.

Either way Skandar wouldn't like to be in any of these situations. Poor him. I went to the office, and indeed, through the glass, Skandar's bowed head could be seen nodding. That could only mean he did something bad. I decided to get a better look and got closer to the door.
I could only make out Hook's angry expression. He was telling something to Skandar, then stabbed the table with his hook, clearly annoyed.
Scared for Skandar's safety a small gasp escaped my mouth. That was enough to make Hook peer through the window– and catch me.

"Grace." He said, raising an eyebrow, once he had opened the door.
"Hello... Sir." I said, looking up to him with the most innocent expression.
"I can see you have been spying."
"Me? Spying? Pfft. Why would you think that?"

I looked past Hook's shoulder, and saw Skandar trying to hide a smile. Asshole.

"Well," Hook continued, "you were clearly trying to see what Mr. Belser and I were talking about."

"Oh, really?" I said. "Well– uh, what would be so bad about that? Isn't spying good for pirates?"

"It is," said Hook, "If you were training, or it were Captain's orders."

That shut me up.

"Fortunately I won't punish you, because I already have to deal with another precious little jewel." He looked at Skandar, whose face sunk.

"Now run along. Oh, and do not clean the mess from yesterday Grace. I already have it covered."

--

"It's so unfair." Said Skandar, pushing the mop into a bucket with water. "You didn't get punished just because you're his favourite."

"That's not true!" I said, punching him on the arm.

"It is. You can't deny it. Hey– hand me that sponge?"

I took a sponge from the floor and threw it to him.

"Thanks."
