Angels among us

I felt the cold wind on my bald head. I was feeling sicker every day. But the doctor said there was a chance i'd survive.

A couple of weeks passed by and i was laying in the hospital. I was going down hill. I slept all day, and when i was awake, Demi was sitting next to my bed holding my hand.

I woke up and looked at her. "Hey, your awake", she said sitting up. "Yes, but you should get some sleep too", i said almost whispering. I was feeling weak. She gave me a glass of water. I was almost too weak to hold it. "The doctor came", she said. "And?" "He said the chances you'll get better, was only 20%.." She started crying. "Hey, don't cry my love." I rubbed her cheek with my thumb. "Come here", i said. She crawled in bed with me. This was probably the last time i'll ever hold her, so i just cherish this moment we had together.

*2 months later*

I was still in the hospital and Demi's stomach grew.

The doctor walked in. "I have bad news. The chemo therapy didn't help. It just slowed down the process. I'm sorry, but there's nothing we can do anymore", he said. Demi broke down crying. I think she was getting crazy. "How long does she have?", Demi asked crying. "2 months. 5 months if she's lucky." I just nodded. "I'm sorry", he said. "Thank you." He walked away.

I was going to die.

Demi fell on her knees on the ground and her head on my bed. I stroke her hair. "Shh. Its okay", i said. She whispered, which sounded like she was praying. "You can't die..", she said. "I'm sorry.. I can't stop this process.." She grabbed my hand and planted a soft kiss on it. "I know you can't baby. I don't blame you for it." I smiled weakly. "You should go home and get some sleep beautiful", i said. "I don't wanna leave", she said wiping away her tears. "Go baby", i said rubbing her cheek. "I'll be here tomorrow too", i continued. "Promise me you'll be here tomorrow." "I promise babe." "Okay babe, well see you tomorrow than." She kissed my bald head. "I love you beautiful", she said. "I love you too baby." She walked towards the door and turned around. She waved at me and i waved back. She walked out of the room.

My head started hurting and i fell asleep.
