I curled up with Tyler on the couch. I had my notebook on my lap and a pen in hand. I had a little melody in my head and I wanted to put some lyrics too it.
The ink spilled onto the page as my pen twirled, writing every word so delicately.
"Dooo, Do, do, do, dooo, do." I hummed to myself.
"Slowtown?" Tyler said, his eyebrows pushed together.
"I have a little melody in my head and I wanted to put lyrics too it."
"Okay sing me a bit." This was the first time I'd seen him smile in days.
"Okay." I smiled. "Hey, Hey, wouldn't be great, great, if we could just lay down and wake up in slowtown." I sang up to the chorus.
"I like the socks bit." Tyler chuckled. "I think the chorus should be a bit more up beat though."
"How so?"
"Like a little bit discotec. Maybe have a bit of rap in there by yours truly."
"Are we writing a song?" I grinned.
"I think we are."
We worked on the lyrics for the rest of the day and did a bit of piano. We Skyped Josh to share the idea. I played a little demo on the keyboard.
"That's a really good song." Josh admitted. "Thank you." I said. Louise came to the camera to say hi. When she left Tyler got a bit serious with Josh.
"So Louise." Tyler began.
"What about Louise?" Josh asked confused.
"You've been together nearly 3 years buddy. Are you ever gonna put a ring on that."
"Tyler we've been over this, I want to put the band first."
"Josh you're getting old."
"I'm 26."
"Josh seriously, you should propose." I chimed in.
"Why's that?" He asked.
"Don't tell her I said anything but.... she kinda really wants you too, she doesn't want to be a 43 year old getting married for the first time."
"Really?" Josh said with sadness in his eyes.
"She loves you a lot and you clearly love her." I smiled. "Just do it."
"I guess. Okay I'll do it."
"Good." Tyler and I said in unison.
"Louise!" Josh yelled. My eyes widened as I realised he was gonna do it right then and there.
"Yeah, what's up?" She asked smiling as usual.
"I don't have a ring or anything yet but..." Josh got on one knee; Louise grabbed her mouth in shock and started to cry.
"Will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?"
"Yes! Yes! Yes I'll marry you!" She squealed. They hugged and I felt like they needed some privacy. I congratulated them both and hung up.
"A bit more romantic than ours." I laughed.
"Ours was so romantic." Tyler stated slightly offended by my last remark.
"Oh really? On our bedroom floor after we both fell off the bed." I said rolling my eyes. Tyler stood up and pulled me up along with him; he wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my forehead.
"I thought it was romantic; it meant something to me." I looked up at him with a half grin.
"It meant something to me too." My eyes twinkled and Tyler pushed my messy hair behind my ear.
"That twinkle is back." He smiled.
"Because of you." He leaned and kissed me passionately. I closed my eyes and kissed him harder. I pulled away smiling.
"I love you so much." I said.
"I love you so much more." He grinned. We spent the rest of the evening lying in bed. I massaged the back of Tyler's head with one hand and ate ice cream with the other; he tickled up and down my arm so softly. It was the perfect day.•____•____•____•____•____•
Aw Josh and Louise are getting married. Tyler and Harley are being cute. Everything is really good.//
I know slowtown was in regional at best but I felt like their life was going so quick (miscarriage, blurryface, Allina) that slowtown related to them a bit. Hope you're enjoying the story.
