CHAPTER ONE
Amy woke up on a saturday morning with a buzzing feeling running
through her. She loved visiting her horse, Jasper, at her local livery yard. Jasper is a grey, 14.2hh pony with the stocky body of a welsh cob cross thoroughbred. Amy especially loved Saturdays, it meant that she could spend more time with Jasper. This was essential as, in a few weeks they would be heading to horse of the year show for the pony Grand Prix, which they had successfully qualified for earlier in the year. For this reason, Amy would always wake up an hour earlier in order to gather up some extra training. She'd done herself a plan which was too ride twice a day for half an hour. Half in the morning and half in the afternoon. She would vary the training to be either jumping or flatwork exercises. She hated flatwork, but she knew it was essential for her pony. This morning, it will be a jumping session. Her mum had already got up too build a complicated and challenging course of jumps, standing at about 1.35m, which was the height of the Grand Prix.
Amy, pulled on her riding gear and hurried out through the front door towards Jasper's wooden stable door. She unbolted the stable door and gathered her tack from the back of the stable. She then placed the bridle over her horse's head carefully and balanced the saddle on his back before finally tightening the girth.
