Hi my name is Bellamy Winters. I'm a normal 15 year old girl who goes to a normal school and has a normal life, or so I thought. When I was 5 I remember being able to do things, see things with my mind. I told my teacher these things and she never believed me, but when I started telling her more and more in detail she decided to tell my parents. When she told my parents, they weren't surprised or concerned. They just told her that I had a vivid imagination but when they talked to my privately, they knew that what I was talking about was real. They told me to not tell anyone about what I could do and that it was a secret between the three of us. When my brother was born three years later, we had already moved four times. My brother grew up doing the same things I could do, and so we kept having to move, even after my parents gave him the same talk they gave to me. This story is about what happened two years ago, my first year of high school. New school, new life, all new problems.

I wandered into the big school on the first day and wondered, why did my parents make me come to this school instead of many others?
My family had to move around a lot because of our special abilities, and this year I promised my parents we would never have to move again. Or at least I hoped so.
The first bell rang and I made my way to my first class, hoping I wouldn't be late on the first day of school. I looked around the huge room that contained multiple instruments in the back. I guess this is the band room. I thought. I was then surrounded by thirty or fourty kids rushing into the room making it seem smaller and smaller. They all had cases in their hands, some small like clarinets or flutes and others bigger like alto saxs and trumpets. I watched them grab chairs and sit down in what looked to be a circle. I then realized they were all staring at me. I moved over and looked around the classroom, trying to find a friendly face but found none. Two adults came into the room, one male and the other female. The male one sat in the circle with what looks like an attendance sheet and a pen.
"Children, it looks like we have a few new students." He then read a few names out including mine which made me feel even more awkward. The teacher got up and walked back into the office with the other teacher and I looked for a spot. Everyone was already up and talking to other people. I saw a boy who looked about my height with brown hair. I walked over to him but he walked away when he saw me coming. I sighed and walked away and sat down beside some girls.

I was always good a disapearing but doing that in a new school was hard. Especially when i was the only chello player in a sea of flutes. I was always gonna be the odd kid walking around the school with a chello strapped to me. I couldn't stuff it in the band cave cause there was never enough room. I always could put it into the bass cave but it wasn't a bass, it may look like one and be as heavy as one it wasn't. And besides i wasn't an idiotic bass player, or as our teacher likes to put it, asses. Which was true, they acted more like donkeys(or butts) then humans anyways so why not call them that.
I learned that the they guy who i walked over to on the first day's name is Kaine. He's pretty much a loaner and music is his life, well other then video games. I ended up sitting next to him for the past few months because the teacher said i should play the tenor instead of the chello(thank goodness) which i also then regretted seeing as how he, the other player, can't even play two notes correctly.

The next few months were painless and soon enough the school year ended and i summer started. I couldn't really get him out if my head for the first few weeks but it got easier towards the end. Summer ended all too fast and school started again. We didn't move during the summer(thank goodness) seeing as how we were old enough to not tell anyone about our abilities. I actually had friends for once in my life and was able to keep them for longer then a month. They're the girls i hung out with on my first day. Ya they were band geeks but i guess i am too now. They're cool and crazy so pretty much like me. We aren't the most popular kids in the grade but we were in our little group.
The first week of grade 9 was torture, but a bit better then grade 8. As the year progressed, i grew closer to Kaine and we ended up talking a lot more then we ever have and sometimes hanging out after school and at lunch on the odd occasion. But then in December, he got a girlfriend. Her name was Kayla and she was, in my opinion, ugly. But then again other people thought she was beautiful. She was popular, smart, athletic, and artist, and above all, a band girl. She was everything i wasn't and she split me and Kaine farther apart then we were when we met. She introduced him to her friends and there friends and there friends. He got popular instantly and forgot about his real friends. Kaine and Kayla broke up by June and he was depressed for most of the summer. As we started getting ready for school he texted me. He said he wanted to talk and he wanted to meet up. I said okay and when the day arrived, i went out and met him. He wasn't alone. I watched as he gestured to me and a few people came over. I recognised most of them, and they weren't the best people to be hanging out with. I said i had to go and i left quickly. I sighed and felt like i had made the worst mistake of my life.
Present day
I remembered the day i met him and i shook my head upset with myself with actually liking him. I thought he was okay but i guess i was wrong. The first band class of the year was relatively boring until something came over me. He was walking across the floor and i was intently watching him. He was travelling across the circle we had formed and dancing to the flight of the bumble bee. I was watching him when something happened and he froze, literally. The entire class was frozen. I stared at him again and then i starred up at the clock, 9:10. I walked over to Kaine and tapped his head. A small blue bubble appeared above my hand. It was spherical in shape and dark blue in colour with a hint of light blue around the edges. I walked out into the hallway and the bubble followed me. I expanded the bubble once i got outside and looked at it. Inside it had millions of little purple rectangular boxes with white writing inside them. They were all connected to a large purple box in the centre of the bubble with the name Kaine Fairchild written on it. Just above it they're were six smaller boxes with different names on them. They were Alexander Mitchell, Maya Thatcher, Alana Hitcher, Mitch Miyers, Collin Smear and of course, Kayla Anderson. Without thinking i pulled out the boxes with the names on them and starred at them intently.
"What the hell are you doing?"
I whipped my head around and starred at him, completely speechless.
"If you wanted to know what was in my head, you could've just asked." I still couldn't speak, I just starred at him. He walked over to me and i hid the boxes behind my back even more but he grabbed them and put the back inside the bubble.
"I'm sorry Kaine... But how?"
"I'm a diverse too" He looked at me and i starred at him looking like he was crazy.
"A what" I asked and he laughed a bit before collapsing the bubble and putting it back into himself.
"We are the diverse. Basically, we control peoples minds. Did you think you were the only one?" I looked down at the floor and he chuckled.
"Don't laugh at me" But he kept laughing anyways. Time unfroze but he froze it back up again and starred at me. "What?" I said and he wiped my nose leaving blood on his hand.
"You've never held it for long have you?" He asked and i shook my head. "Let me help you" He asked softly and before i knew what i was doing, i nodded.
