I watched silently as Shin emerged from the darkness of the trees. He walked fearlessly to the wounded man, who knelt down with cuts made over his bare chest. He was covered in blood.

The bushes around him and the wounded man rattled wildly, presence of other ninja made them-selves clear that they were there, that they were coming.

Men surrounded the injured man, one of them who surrounded him I had recognised. It was that silver haired ninja.

He stood before the injured man and lifted his sword across his body with a smirk facing towards Shin. In that moment, he slashed down at the kneeling man. His head was now detached from his body.

I covered my mouth and turned my back onto the scene. I was disgusted. What were they going to do to Shin if they caught him?

I uncovered my mouth and gasped silently. I stayed low before gazing out into the bloody sight, towards the fight. Shin had already drawn his sword out and had the look of despair on his face. He let out a shout before running into battle.

There were sounds of explosions coming from behind me in the far distance, with small flicks of light and far screams from the villagers.

I gazed out thoughtlessly when I heard a loud thud. It had sounded like a body. I turned my face back to the fight and had realized that Shin stood alone with the man, fighting against the Silver haired ninja.

There were bodies on the floor. They were the same bodies of men who assisted this foe. It was only then, I stood up and made my way out of the bushes.

The moon hovered high and silent, watching from afar.

Not realising, I had no cover over my face, the wind touched my skin.

Shin and the Enemy ninja stood cautious but still. I didn’t understand why I had brought myself out, why my body had insisted itself.

A night hawk screeched aloud over us, causing my eyes to wonder. It was the village bird. It had come to lead Shin’s men to help assist his scouting.

“Zarachael watch out!”

Within that moment, my life was being held in his hands again, the masked, silver haired man.

“If you come any closer, her head will be off!” His voice was husky, so determined.

I felt a thin cold metal be placed onto my neck. My body was tense and leaned onto him. I closed my eyes and breathed.

Why did I bring myself out here?

“Let her go Kakashi. She’s not a part of this!” Shin called from in the distant, his sword useless now in his hand.

His name was Kakashi, why did it sound so familiar. So distant, so far but yet it was close enough to reach my heart?

“Why should I? So you can play with her?” His voice sounded amused, “Shin, you don’t deserve anything.” His hand tensed onto my wound and I couldn’t help but scream in pain.

He held me up while my knees shook heavily. He didn’t say a word and watched Shin do nothing, even I watched Shin do nothing.

“Please Kakashi, that was years ago. Let her stay with me.”

I opened my eyes in sheer will and looked over at Shin helplessly.

Kakashi went through the pockets of my vest, throwing the weapons I had out onto the ground.

“Say goodbye Zarachael.” His voice was straight, the same voice I was going to die to.

I exhaled heavily as he removed the sword from my neck before placing me over his shoulder.

“Shin, if you follow me. I’ll assure you that I will kill her.”

I could feel the slow gush of blood drain itself from my body. My head was spinning. Had being placed on his shoulder for a while had affected my body. I moaned in pain and without noticing I soon began to cry.

He walked into a gloomy cave and flung me of from him. He stood up soon turning his back before pulling out his sword. I rolled onto my knees and bowed onto the dirt.

“Please, allow me to serve you. Just please…please…Just please don’t kill me.”

He chuckled and knelt down before grabbing a handful of my hair, “Don’t act innocent, you tried to kill me before, remember.”

I gazed at his eye and soon tears streamed from mine. His hand loosened and soon had let go of it completely.

He muttered something underneath his breath, but I could understand what it was he had said.

I sat there and watched as he walked to the entrance of the cave. What was he thinking, contemplating, wondering? I didn’t know.

Kakashi stood there for a while before he turned back. He staggered on his way, and soon lost his balance completely falling down in front of me.

I hesitated, why was my body urging me to help him? Why did it feel like out of all people I had to help him?

I crawled towards him and turned his body over. Not caring what pain I was in, I laid his torso onto my lap. I checked for his pulse soon realising his arm was bleeding heavily.

“Ka-Kakashi? D-Don’t die yet.” I took his vest off and ripped his sleeved shirt open.

I reached into my vest pocket and pulled out an anti-infection bandage, wrapping it tight over his wound before placing him down.

What was I doing?

I made the assumption that he was the only one who could set me free or take my life.

Being in a cave seemed better than a cell. Even if it meant saving an enemy like him, it was possible to find a new life if I was with him. I think.
