A month had passed and Kakashi still hadn’t returned. My training with Guy was becoming more frequent that he started teaching me new jutsu’s. I continuously cleaned the house and bought grocery. Experimenting what I would cook for Kakashi.
Ever since that day when Guy asked me about Kakashi, my mind always continued to wonder. Kakashi and I, what were we? We shared a kiss, was I some sort of desperate resort for him? He hadn’t done anything that made me hate him, neither had he forced me to do something I didn’t want to.
I had asked to get this week off because Kakashi was coming back. I had made some money helping out around the street that I lived on. I was saving up to get Kakashi a present but I didn’t know what. I was used to the Village now, only certain streets. Villagers soon didn’t seem so much of a hassle anymore, they were used to my face that they would say hello. I didn’t feel so much like an outcast anymore, I felt as if I belonged here.
I bought a small chocolate cake and made my way home, before placing in the fridge I wondered about Kakashi, when was his birthday. Kakashi was meant to be back on the day that I bought him the cake but he didn’t end up coming.
I turned up to training the next day when Guy came alone.
“Where’s everyone?” I asked curiously.
“They’re all training one on one with each other.”
I smiled kindly, “Okay, so what are we going to learn today?”
We ended up having a one on one close combat. He was surprised that I could do one on one’s seeing that it was almost a month that I hadn’t fought. It was also because training with Guy was mostly maintaining chakra and doing Tai justsu on a log.
There was a cool breeze that played around. The sun had just begun to set. The sky created a scene that gave out an orange and pink view with clouds streamed across.
Guy flung his arm over me, “What a day!”
I laughed aloud and he walked me along the similar path we had usually taken to Kakashi’s apartment, “So is Kakashi back yet?”
“No,” I looked down sadly, “I’m sure he will this week though.” I gave a reassuring smile.
We were by the apartment building now, “Well if he is, tell him I want to talk to him.”
“Okay, thanks Guy.” I smiled at him before he parted away, “Guy! Wait!”
He turned from the little distant, “Yeah?”
I sheepishly smiled, “Do you know when Kakashi’s birthday is?”
He thought about it, rubbing his chin when he clicked, “The 15th of September.”
I smiled widely, “Thank you!”
I made my way up the steps and hurried along to shower. 15th of September was only two days away!
As I pulled out the key, the door to the apartment was already open… I’m sure I locked it…
I quietly opened the door and snuck inside when I saw Kakashi’s bag and shoes by the floor. My heart was pounding that I hadn’t realiesed my eyes were built up with tears. I kicked off my shoes and ran into the house.
That’s when I saw him. Kakashi stood by the bedroom door when I called out, “Kakashi!” I ran faster to him and embraced his body in my arms, “Kakashi, Kakashi… Kakashi…” I couldn’t help but say his name.
I felt him pull me into a tight hold, “Zarachael!”
I pulled away, “I haven’t had a shower yet, oh dammit!” I hadn’t cooked dinner either, the embarrassment got to me that I rushed into the room and grabbed whatever cloths to wear. Kakashi stood there and watched me hurry before I bombarded into the bathroom.
After I finished Kakashi entered in after. I quickly cooked the rice and began to prepare us both fried vegetable and roast chicken. I hadn’t recognized it but Kakashi stood by the kitchen door watching me. As I came to realize I dropped the spatula and backed myself on the kitchen table.
“Zarachael!”
“Kakashi you scared me!” I laughed, he soon came to smile as he figured I was okay.
Dinner was set and we both sat down eating. Kakashi’s mission was a success and that it took longer than he expected, no wonder he’s days arriving were delayed.
I brought out the pudding cake and we both ate it quietly.
“Why did you come home so late?”
I turned to face his structured face, “I was training.”
“Training?” His eyes glanced up.
I felt my stomach twist as he stared, interested.
I replied, “Yeah…”
“With who?”
“Guy.”
“Guy?”
“What’s wrong with that? With him?”
“Nothing.” he replied amused.
“Well he wanted to see you about something.”
“Really? What about?”
“I don’t know?” He didn’t say?”
As dinner ended Kakashi helped clean the table before heading out.
“Im going to Guy’s, I’ll be home late.”
I smiled, “Go! Have fun!”
He smiled through his mask before he closed the door, “See ya!”
As soon as he closed the door I thought about his birthday, Kakashi’s birthday was coming up soon and I still hadn’t decided on what I was going to get for him, or who I was inviting or what I was going to cook. I had to plan something but did he want something with everyone there, or did he just want it simple. Kakashi’s apartment wasn’t big enough to hold a party, did he have many friends? Did Kakashi have any friends… In the end, I still felt as if I didn’t know Kakashi, I only knew about us. Actually, I didn’t know about us, only the little memories of our history.
Kakashi…
