I woke up to see Kakashi had gotten up already. What a night. I got up from the bed and headed for the bathroom to have a shower, only thinking about what Kakashi and I had done. A blush coloured across my face as the emotions from last night played itself. I ran my fingers over the side of my body where Kakashi had placed his hand, only being able to smile. The warm water ran through my hair as I stood in the bath, Kakashi being my only thoughts.

The house was empty, Kakashi had gone out. He left a note on the table under the vase explaining that he was summoned by the Hokage. I smiled at the note before getting ready to head out.

Outside seemed different, it seemed dull. The grey clouds glided carelessly across the skies above the village. It was slow but it seemed as if the clouds were there for quite a while. I found the single umbrella and shoved the money in my pocket before heading out.

I hummed to myself and smiled as I walked by the other villagers. Today I felt happy, it could only be the effects of last night.

I stood by the shelf in the little supermarket and picked out a loaf of bread, analyzing it in every bit of detail through the plastic it was sealed in. There wasn’t much need to buy any more things because of the shopping we did yesterday. I smiled before heading towards the check out where a young man served me.

“Was this all for today Miss?” His voice was rough but kind.

“Yes thank you,” I smiled politely before handing him the money, “I hope you have a good day!”

His small smile widened across his face, “I will, I hope you do too!”

“I will thank you!” As I turned for the door it slowly began to rain.

I walked out of the store and under the shelter that was provided, I held out the umbrella before opening it. The only thing on my mind was if Kakashi would be home already. It had almost been two hours since he left, or, well since I woke up to see him gone.

The smell of the rain filled my nose as I walked down the path back home. The sound of light thunder played above me. There were puddles everywhere. At first I was avoiding each and every one of them carefully, but later I couldn’t care less.

I was almost back to the apartments when my eyes spotted the familiar figure of Kakashi. He stood there motionless in the rain, looking into the dull clouds. I stopped in my tracks. Something ran through me with fear. He stayed like that in the same position for a little while longer. I hesitantly walked towards him, with each step feeling so weak. I held the umbrella and the loaf of bread in one arm, only using the other to reach for him in the far distance. Only wanting to feel him within my grasp I continued to walk timidly towards him. His head slumped forward when his hand ran through his hair. He was deep in his thoughts, contemplating about something unspeakable.

I began to walk faster and reached further into the distance between us. I could feel my eyes swell. Each step I had taken, my knees wanted to cave in and fall.

I dropped the umbrella and the loaf of bread and ran towards him, “Kakashi!” I held onto his soaking wet body.

“Zarachael? Why are you out here?”

“What’s wrong Kakashi?” I buried my head into his chest.

“Nothing.”

“Kakashi!”

Without another word or any warning he picked me up and headed towards the apartment. He hadn’t spoken but looked on ahead in sight of what he was walking towards. I looked up and admired the angle I was looking at him from.

What was he thinking about, I hope I wasn’t the reason.

I then again buried my head into his chest, “Kakashi, I love you…”

I said it with no hesitation this time.

His body lightly became warmer like the blood rushed through him faster, “I…I love you too.”

I could hear his heart beat as I laid my head calmly onto his chest.

We sat by the kitchen, changed and dried.

Kakashi’s eye’s only avoiding mine, “Zarachael, I have bad news…”

I felt my heart pick up, I spoke my mind straight, “What is it?”

“I’m going on a mission in a month’s time,” His voice was a little low, “And you have to come along with me… with… the team.”

I grinded the chair back before standing on my feet. My palms flat on the table and my eyes straight into his. My heart felt as if it was at my throat, “Is that a bad thing?” I yelled annoyed.

“No, it’s not that.” His voice still calm as ever as he spoke through his mask.

“Then why is this bad news?” I slowly lowered my head and covered my eyes, emotions at the brink again.

“Because this mission,” He slowly looked at me, “We’re going back to your old village…”
