Summer of 2015

"What?" I questioned, looking up seeing August stare at me.

He shook his head and licked his lips. "Nothing." He said.

"Kiss her."

Me and August looked to our right and saw his friend, Snake and his girl grinning at us.

"What?" August said.

"Kiss her." He repeated and raised his brow.

"Why would he wanna do that?" I asked him.

"Why wouldn't he wanna do it?" He questioned and I rolled my eyes and looked away.

"How old are you?" Snake asked me.

"I'm 16."

"And he 19. Perfectly legal."

"Snake-"

"Don't give him no feedback, he just runnin' his mouth." August said, waving him off.

"So you scared to kiss your friend?" He tested.

"We're friends, nigga, what ya' expect?"

"Look, you two don't have feelings for eachother, right?"

"No." I said shaking my head.

"August? Do you?"

I looked at August, seeing how quiet he got. "Nah." He said, looking away from Snake and back at me.

"Then kiss her."

I moved around in the water some, fixing my bathing suit top some, getting uncomfortable with the stares of those 3 looking at me.

"If she's comfortable with it." August said.

"Heavenly." Snake, looked at me and grinned.

"I-I mean, I guess." I said softly. "I never kissed anyone before."

"Just follow my lead." August said, motioning me over with his hand. I could feel my heart skip a beat from the way he was looking at me.

I moved through the pool walking over to August in the deep end. He moved over to me, and grabbed onto my hand to help me out since he was on the deep end and I can't swim in that depth of water.

"Make it last for at least 5 minutes."

"Snake what the fuck-"

"I got $200 riding on this shit man, make it happen!"

"Wait, you made a bet on us?!" I exclaimed.

"You act like the neighborhood ain't do the same."

"Ya'll so damn childish." I said lowly, feeling August's arms wrap around me.

"Let' just get this over with." He said, pulling me in front of him, as they both moved to the side of us to make sure we were doing it forreal.

"Put some emotion to it too."

I flipped Snake off, feeling August kiss on my cheek.

"Cute pose." Snake's girl said, putting her phone back down and she type something, so I knew she took a picture.

Wrapping my legs around August's waist, placing my arms around his neck and looked up at him, as he held me. I was nervous.
