"Where is she?" I demanded, holding the gun up to th man's head. His green eyes were widened with fear. "What did you do with Silvia?!"
"I had nothing to do with her!" he cried desperatley. "I swear! She's not here!"
"Don't waste my time, bastardo," I said, tightening my grip on the trigger. "Piss me off and I shoot a hole in that empty skull of yours."
"No!" he continued, covering his head with his hands. Sweat was pouring down his face, and his eyes were now squeezed shut, anticipating the bullet. "I don't even know who (name) is! Don't kill me, Lovino, please! I have a family to look after! People who need me!"
I paused for a moment, releasing the trigger. "How pathetic," I muttered, withdrawing the gun from his head. I kicked him away from me. "Get out of here, Gino! All you're good for is waisting my time!"
As the old man dragged himself away from me, I paced the room, stepping over broken chairs and smashed wine glasses. My shoes squelched in the alcohol-soaked carpet as I wondered where Silvia could be.
"Goddammit, Silvia!" I shouted. "Where the hell are you, ragazza stupida?"
"Who are you callin' a stupid girl, you stupid girl?"
I spun around and saw Silvia standing there, reloading her gun and smirking at me. I stormed over to her.
"You!" I shouted, pointing at her accusingly. "You know why?! Because you are a stupid girl, ragazza stupida!"
"Calm down, Lovi," she replied, returning her gun to it's holster. "Don't get any more pazzo than you already are."
"Come on," I said grabbing her arm and pulling her out the door. "I'm-a taking you home, ragazza stupida."
"But I'm all alone at home," she complained. "Can't I spend the night at your house? Please?"
I'd forgotten that Silvia's father was almost never home. I sighed.
"Fine," I agreed, pinching the bridge of my nose in annoyance. "Let's go."

"Dammit, Silvia," I grunted as I carried her into my home and dropped her on the couch. "You fell asleep in my car again, ragazza stupida."
I sat down next to her on what little space was left on the sofa, and my younger brother hurried in.
"Fratello!" he greeted me. His eyes brightened when he saw Silvia sleeping on the couch. "Ooooooh! You brought your bella home with you again! Ya-hoo!"
"Shut up!" I scolded him. "You'll wake her up, bastardo!"
"Sorry, fratello!" he said. He took a moment to gaze at Silvia fondly as she slept. "You're lucky, Lovi. Silvia's really nice and pretty."
"Don't think about Silvia that way, stupido," I replied, crossing my arms. "Don't you remember what the old man said? She's mine."
"Yeah, yeah, I know. I was only complimenting," he assured me. Then, he leaned down to whisper in my ear. "Does she know yet? About the contract?"
"No," I replied quietly. "I want her to bond with me naturally, not because she's forced to."
My brother smiled. "You're a good guy, fratello. And you'll make a good lover one day too," suddenly, he jumped up. "I almost forgot! My pasta! You want some, Lovino?"
