Teddy's Epic Adventure

Chapter 1 (Teddy's POV)

Ok theres a story I need to tell you. Thirteenth birthday. Both of my friends,My mom and step dad were there and we were having fun. Then suddenly there was a loud solid single pound on the door which silenced the entire room. My mom walked to the door, looked through the peephole and abruptly started freaking out, just losing her mind saying,

"Ok everybody calm down. Um Drake take Iliza in to Teddy's room and Bruce go hide in our room. Teddy you and me are going to stay here ok everyone clear on the plan? Good."

I'm worried so I ask, but I need to know what's going on"Um Mom what's going on?"

"You're going to meet your dad."

"WHAT!!!!!!!!"

"You heard me, just be calm ok?"

"Ok open the door."

When I saw my dad I was blown away. He is 6'6 and  at least 245 pounds of solid muscle with jet black spiked up hair and dark brown eyes just like me. I mean it was like i was looking at a really big mirror. My mom told me that right after I was born he had gone to fight a war. She told me he was in the military but I always knew that wasn't the truth so I was really excited to meet my dad and find out what he's been doing all these years. I wish I could say the same for my mom. She looked like a ghost, she was so pale and shaky.

"Mom are you ok?" I asked.

"Oh a little nervous, why can you tell?" she replied.

"Only a little, Mom. Relax, it'll be fine" I said.

"Hey Kim. Hey son," my dad said.

"Is it time, Tyler?"my mother asked.

"If I may ask, time for what?"

"Son, sit down," my dad said as he gestured to the couch, so I sat. it was a little awkward seeing my mom and dad talking so smoothly, like he never left. My mom was so comfortable around him, her calm demeanor must have been rubbing off on me. At first I was kinda losing it after my dad showed up after 13 years of being gone. I was worried but now I'm fine.

"Son, when I was thirteen I was told what I am about to tell you and this is very important so stay calm, can you do that?" he asked.

"Sure" I replied.

"Well there's no easy way to say this but we are decedents from very special people who could do very amazing things and with these gifts they also had a very big burden they had to fight these very bad people the leader of them is known only as the shadow and to make sure the other people of the world could be safe our family along with others that had different abilities fought  as well. When I was told this I started training and I've been fighting this evil ever since and that's why I had to leave right after you were born to keep you and your mother safe and now you have to take on that great evil and your friends are going to help you. They're also decedents of the great ones so you won't be alone," he says. 

"Ok so how am I supposed to fight off these great evil ones when I am just a normal person and there's not anything very special about me?" I replied.

"Son you have powers that other people could only dream of. You just haven't seen yet," he tells me.

"Ok so what are my powers? Huh? What are they, because I definitely know that I don't have powers or I haven't seen them, so tell me." I was getting so mad at him telling me this. I don't know why I just snapped but he was so calm about it all, almost like he knew this was going to happen which was weird but if he was powerful too, I guess mind reading could be one of them but I'm not sure. But he knew what I was about to ask so he said the answer before I even got the question out.
