Chapter 1

News theme comes on with the logo 'Fox 26 Breaking News'. "Breaking News from the streets of San Diego, California! Hello I'm Anchorman Brad Solomon and I'm reporting live from the streets of Bentley Avenue. We have been alleged to find a deadly car crash in the middle of, Bentley Avenue. Eyewitnesses seem to say they saw two cars collide after they heard a loud screeching coming from outside. Another eyewitness was lucky enough to catch the horrific crash on tape and send it to us." That's when they shown footage of last night's controversy.

I never thought that I would end up in this position, in a car to some part of Los Santos. I am 17 almost 18 years old and an adultless child. Well, as of now. My parents recently died last night. How you ask...It's simple. My dad thought he could drink and drive simultaneously, but him and my mom got into it, ran a stop sign, and BOOM... their dead, or so I like to say. I was told my mom was okay, and that she fled the incident. But she's in the hospital now, and will be for a while. I was at home alone when this happened.

I gotten a call from the hospital out of nowhere and the next morning a uber driver was at my door step with a message from my brother, Spenser, saying to 'pack all of my things; I will be moving in with him'. I had no clue what was going on, so I just went ahead and started packing and headed out the door.

The ride seemed to last for about half an hour, so it wasn't that bad. "We're here. Don't mind if I ask, but what is your name young one?" The uber driver asked curiously.

"Skylar...Skylar Michaels." I said confidently with a grin.

That's me alright. The name is Skylar, Skylar Dante Michaels to be exact. I am, as you already know, 17 years old. I have black shaggy hair, sparkling blue eyes, full pink lips, and a little bit of chin hair. I am what they call an outcast or emo kid. I don't cut myself but I like to keep to myself. I live in my own little shell and I like it just like that.

My brother greets me with an inviting smile. I nod my head and smile and he says,

"Well if it isn't my lil brother Skylar. Long time, no see."

"I know right," I shouted with confident smile. I grabbed my luggage from the trunks and rolled them to the front door. The driver tips his hat at me and I smiled and waved goodbye. As the car drove away, I carried my luggage into the living room hearing the door close behind me.

"Aren't you going to help me?" I glared at him angrily.

"Just sit it to the side." He said glaring back, walking in front of me hiding his excitement in every step.

"Okay. New rules. You're in my house, so you abide by my rules. Got that?!" I nodded with a slight chuckled thinking of how happy he is to see me. I mean, it's been 3 and a half years since I've seen him... and that was his graduation day.

"What's funny?! I'm not laughing!" he said cutting me of from my thoughts. "Whatever, I bought you an iPhone," he handed me the gift. I activated it and put my number in already. My old Xbox is in your room, I didn't know if you played games still; it's upstairs though." I nodded and stuffed my new phone in my pocket and grabbed my bags.

"And wher-"

"Upstairs, down the hall, to the right."

"Um, Thank you?! But, why are you being so nice?" I raised my eyebrow hoping he would answer politely

"Because as your brother, I HAVE to look after you and keep you up-to-date with the latest technology. And as a family member, there's a good side and a bad side... Are you done interrogating me?" He chuckled.

"Yeah. I guess my work here is done."

"Good. Now go investigate that new room of yours." He pointed out to the room.

"And that I will do." I screamed as I hurried up the stairs with my luggage to my room.

I sped-walked up the giant stairs, dashing to stop looking at all the doors he has on this hall. I kept straight passing by multiple rooms then stopped at a door finally. I exhaled the much need breath that I had been unknowingly holding as I push the door slightly open to the bedroom.

Inside, the walls are painted lavender, with my name in black graffiti above the head board of the bed, my favorite colors. I drop my bag on the floor and stud there with my mouth gaping. I take time to look around and this room is truly amazing. There is a huge queen size bed with black comforter, a window with a seat, my very own Mac book pro, and a huge walk-in closet. It was everything I wanted.

It takes me half an hour to unpack everything so for the remainder of the time I sit in the window seat and listen to some of my music on my phone. I close my eyes, lean my head against the window, and let the beat take me away. So many songs reminded me of mom and it truly sucks that she isn't here.

My mother was my everything. She was the first person that I told I was gay and that just made her lover me even more. As I feel another tear slip from my eye, I hurry and wipe it away. A few minutes later, Spencer comes in and tells me that dinner is ready. I thank him and head into the bathroom to wash up.

The warm water washes over my tired face and I feel refreshed right away. I have been deprived of sleep these past few months. My mind is scattered with thoughts of dad, always fight with my mom; keeping up noise. Hopefully I can actually sleep tonight. Shaking my head, I set the wet washcloth onto the side of the sink and I turn off the light before descending the stairs. I see Spencer and another guy at the kitchen table smiling happily and I smile back. The greet me and tell me to take a seat. I sit down in front of Spencer and he smiles widely before saying,

"Skylar, I waited to tell you this: this hunk over here is, Howard, my best friend."

"Awwh, well, I guess there's no use of me waiting either. But, I'm.. gay." Howard smiled at my confidence, but Spencer continued eating, as if he didn't hear anything.

"I also have a little brother that might take your interest, but he should be here any minute now;" and as soon he says this, the front door opens. I hear some clattering and then in walks the most gorgeous boy I have ever seen. I mean really, my heart skipped a beat and then he sends me a wide smile, making it worse. I think I just died and went to heaven.
