Chapter 96:

Vanessa's pov:

(Funeral clothes)
The next morning we all stood by the graveyard as Mikey's casket stood there closed before us.

I gripped my purse close to my side as I stared at everything around me.

This didn't feel real, I felt him. I felt him hear. I felt him close to me telling me not to cry but I couldn't help the tears that fell from my face.

Lana held my hand tight as i frowned sniffling away the tears.
Mikey's mother screamed and cried as she set flower's on the top of the casket.

My mother and Vikki stood together and she held onto little Hope.
Vincent was quiet standing with Jason and Lark and Kat as she also cried .

"Is this our fault." I whispered to Lana.

"What? No." she said making me look at her as I sighed .
"We couldn't do anything." She said to me kissing my head .

The preacher started his speech  as the family sat down. Tears were shed and memories weren't forgotten.

'Vanessa.'

I turned my head fast as my hair flung in the wind. I stared behind me as I swear I heard it.. it was Mikey.
I turned back around.. I'm losing it .

I listened to the preacher's nice words.

'Vanessa!' He called .

This time I let go of Lana and looked behind me.

"Vanessa?" Lana asked .

"I'll be back." I said walking away.
I followed his voice into the woods.

I spotted him as I slid my shoe's off and ran for him.
"Mikey! Wait!" I yelled running in the dirt.

No matter how fast I was going, he was still moving faster than me .

"Mikey!" I cried . "Slow down!"

He turned his head to me as he moved right and vanished as I stopped and looked around .

What the hell.. more tears fell from my eyes.

I grabbed my head and screamed dropping to my knee's.
Arms grabbed me as I turned my head .

Mikey stood there staring at me .

"M-Mikey.." I cried .

He said nothing as he placed a kiss on my head and stood up as i held onto his hand. He looked down at me as he turned and walked away. I reached for his hand , he was getting further and further away.

"I can feel you all around me! Please Mikey!" I screamed .

He stopped and turned . A smile plastered onto his face . I stayed on my knee's as he walked back over as he got to his knee's.

He grabbed my face as his lips planted on mine. My eyes were wide with shock as he slowly disappeared from sight .

"Nessa!" My mom called as she ran to me wrapping her arms around me .
I stood completely still as she shook me trying to get my attention.

"Vanessa. Look at me." Vikki said rubbing my cheek.

"Should I get someone ." Lark asked .

"Mom.. he was here, I felt him." I whispered .

My mother frowned and wrapped her arms around me, as I screamed and cried into her arms balling my eyes out .

Melissa's pov :

I held onto her as she screamed and cried into my arms , i couldn't help but cry .. my daughter will suffer from a loss of a mate, she will always feel it. How do I protect her from something like this..

What did she mean she saw him, was she going crazy or was it something real.

Vikki picked her up.
"I'll bring her back to the house, you finish up with everything there and come back."

I nodded my head and kissed her cheek.

We walked separate ways as I headed back to the graveyard. I turned my head and could of sworn I saw someone walking with them as I shook my head and walked back.

Lana looked alerted as she came to me .
"Is she okay." She asked .

"She needs time to cope." I said.

Kat came over to me .
"I'll go to her ." She told me walking off .

"I think it's best if you and Vincent stay away for awhile.." I said looking at them.

Lana was gonna argue but Vincent stopped her .
"She needs time, as her mate. Respect what my mother says "

I looked at Vincent and smiled lightly as I walked off and back to Mikey's mother as I gave her my sorry and hugged her .

I than walked back to the house with mostly everyone as I slid my shoe's off and set Hope in the crib. She finally fell asleep after the long day and her cracky butt.

Vikki opened the door as I turned .
"Wake her and I'll smack you."

She smirked and nodded her head, I put the baby monitor on as I closed the door and followed her to the hall.

I gave her something to sleep, she is out like a light . Kat is with her .
She kept calling for him.

I frowned and leaned against the wall.
"What are we gonna do." I questioned .

"Be there for her as much as we can." Vikki said moving my hair out my face .

"Why does bad things always happen"

She sighed and hugged me.
"I have literally no idea babe. But things will look up, just not now. We need to take the days one step at a time ." She told me kissing my head .

I nodded my head .

"Also since we're talking, Mikey's parents are leaving the pack ." She said .

I sighed .
"I knew that was bound to happen."

"I told them they are always welcome back, if they are in danger. We are a call away."

I nodded my head crossing my arms as screams of Vanessa made us run to her room and bust the door open as Kat held onto her as she cried .

"Night terror." Kat said.

I sighed and went over and held onto Vanessa as she cried. I held onto my baby until she fell back to sleep, that's wasn't her only night terror that night.
