I want to go away. Somewhere far, somewhere with no bullshit. I want to run away to an island, somewhere far from corruption and lies. An island that I can escape to and find all the people I hold near and dear to my heart. I see this island sometimes in my dreams, it's an island where there is no worries, no judgement, no puppets and puppetmasters in disguise, no noise from media. Just peace and quiet. This is where I see my family and friends happy and care free. There are no wars on this island. It makes me happy, it makes me long for better times.

I woke up to the alarm clock screaming. I really didn't want to get up and wake from my paradise. School seemed to bore me and education is beginning to feel like a worn out routine, making everyone HATE going to school to learn. School is now a social gathering of people who are forced to be there and teachers who seem to be there for their paychecks. And nowadays it only seemed that colleges hand out diplomas for those who pay high enough, and at the end of the day a diploma is just a paper with ink that means almost nothing.

"Amethyst," called my mom knocking at my door, "Get up or you'll be late for you first day of school."

I groaned. "I can't go to school. I found out I'm allergic to irrelevance."

I buried my face in my pillow and heard my mom opening the door and felt tapping on my back.

"Get up Amethyst, don't make me get your father up here." She warned.

I looked up at her and said, "Dad would agree with me about school. It's nonsense and tests upon tests upon more test that don't actually matter and doesn't motivate the student body into trying harder, especially when we are constantly bombarded with homework that teachers barely look at when they grade it. I can literally hand in the whole Gettysburg Address as an essay for English Lit. and still get an A. In fact, I did last year and I got an A. No one cares anymore."

My mom sighed and said, "Just get up and get ready."

My named is Amethyst Genevieve Grey. I long for the day I find paradise on Earth. Being a dreamer, I am hopeful that it exists somewhere. I look up at the sky sometimes and feel it calling to me.

"Someday, I will find my paradise." I whispered to myself.

I walked to my closet and picked out a pair of white distressed high waisted jeans, undergarments, a black long sleeve bodysuit, and a purple/pink/white flannel shirt. And walked into the bathroom to shower. After I finished, I turned the water off and stepped out to dry off. I got dressed and walked back into my room sitting down at my desk. I moisturized my face and put on some light foundation and covered my eyelids with neutral brown eyeshadow and place some false lashes, coating them with a thin layer of mascara. I lightly bronzed my face and put on a pastel pink matte liquid lipstick and I finished my simple look. I stared at the small mirror on my desk. I have my dad's light tan skin and his bright blue eyes and my mom's long chocolate brown hair. I put my half dry, half damp hair in a ponytail. I put a silver earcuff on my right ear and put purple studded earrings and put on a silver necklace with a small amethyst stone. I grabbed my white converse, Iphone 6 plus, and mint green backpack and went downstairs to the kitchen.

"Good morning, precious stone." said my dad with a smile as he prepared some bacon and placed bread in the toaster.

"Good morning dad." I said as I walked past him to grab a cup of coffee.

My little 10 year old brother, Alexandrite Jasper Grey, slumped his way to the table, sat down, and layed his head on the table.
