9:04 read the digital clock in Quinn's navy blue carola, that her mom gave her as an apology for kicking her out of the house. Her car smelled like her perfume, a soft and sweet scent, that she had been wearing since freshman year.
"What are you doing?" Quinn asked, staring at me.
"Just thinking." I answered.
"No, I mean with your thumbs."
I look down at my thumbs that sat it my lap, playing a game of thumb war. I hadn't even noticed.
"Oh, I don't know." I said and rubbed my hands against my side. "I guess I'm just excited."
"Good, because we're here."
I look up and out the window to the giant structure outside. A huge sign read Macy's right in front of us.
"Let's go." She said, and pulled the keys out of the ignition.
As we walk toward the big department store, Quinn attempts at conversation over last night.
"So, you said you ran into Santana last night?" she asked.
"Yeah, just jealousy and rage. But I did help her find someone."
"Really? Who?" she asked.
I hesitated before answering.
"Brittany Pierce." I answered.
She looked at me in awe.
"I know, I know, it's crazy. And I wasn't supposed to tell anyone that she's lesbian so please don't go off telling people."
"Your secret's safe with me." she said as she pulled open the door for me.
"Thank you!" I said as I walked in the store.

"Do you want to rest of this salad?" asked Quinn, tossing around the lettuce with her fork.
"No, I'm okay." I answered. "Thank you for this trip, by the way. That dress you got was to die for."
"And the sweater you got was amazing." she told me.
I looked down at the table.
"Is everything okay?" she said looking over at me.
"Yeah, it's just... no one but you ever compliments my outfits... not even Finn."
I looked up and Quinn stared deep into my eyes. After a few moments of awkward stares, she looked away.
"It's 11:13. We should probably get you back home. You don't want to miss your picnic with Finn." she said, starting to throw away her trash.
"We can stay longer."
We both knew that if we stayed, then I'd definitely be late to Finn's picnic. But I really wanted to stay. So, we just got up and kept shopping, talking and giggling.
11:56, and we still hadn't left.
"Let me just text Finn telling him I'm going to be late."
"I think we should go. Ive heard of fashionably late but you're going to be a little more than that if we don't leave now." She told me.
"Okay, fine."

Quinn pulled into the parking lot of Lima Lawn Park.
12:49.
"Sorry you're so late... I should have drove faster." she said.
"No, it's my fault. I wanted to stay." I answered as I started to gather my things.
"Good luck and have fun!" she told me.
"I will," I said, and without thinking, leaned across the seat and kissed her on the cheek. I jerked my head back and quickly apologized.
"It's fine, it was a just friendly kiss, right?" she assured me.
"Yes, it was." I said and got out of the car.
