Chapter One: Getting Caught

Maddy's pov

I ran thru the woods at top speed as I raced back to my house. Rhydian not far behind, "Eat my dust, ya slow poke!" I said as pushed myself forward, "You, wish madds!" Rhydain screamed back. As I was turning my head to face forward again, I was to late. Right in front of me was a big hole. As I was trying to slow down I slipped and fell in the hole. As I hit bottom, I was worried what if Rhydian didn't see fall in and he's already gone? I stood up, the hole was about 6ft deep and I was 5ft. I thought fast I stuck my arm up as high as It could go and yelled, "Rhydian!?" "Madds, where are you!?" "In the hole, help me!" All of a sudden I feel Rhydian's warm hands wrap around my one hand and lift me up. Once I'm up Rhydian pulls me into a hug, and strokes my hair three times. That was weird he never did that ever. "Maddy, you scared me, are you ok!?" He asked frantically, "Yeah, I'm fine, thank you, Rhydian." We pulled out of each other's embraces, as soon as he let go of me I let out a small whimper as I took a step forward falling face first onto the forest floor. "Maddy are you, ok?" I looked up to his face inches from mine, "Yeah. . I probably just did some minor damage." I turned my self around carefully and looked at my legs they looked fine to me, just to make sure I pulled both of my pant legs up to my calves. I let out a small gasp, my right foot was really swollen, and now that I look at it, it really hurts. "Come on Maddy let's get you back home, I'll carry you." I was about to protest until Rhydian swooped me holding me bridal style, and being careful not to hurt me ankle even further. We then took off at wolf speed towards the house. As long as I was being carried I might as well get comfortable. I lightly wrapped my arms around Rhydian's neck and nestled me head into his shoulder.

Rhydian's POV

As we got back to the smiths house, the smell of meat hit me like a ton of bricks it smelt so good, I looked over at Maddy, her beautiful brown eyes were now a bright yellow. Wait did I say beautiful? Never mind that. "Mrs. Smith, please help, Maddy twisted her ankle!" Emma came around the corner with a first aid kit in her thin hands. "Alright Rhydian, set her down on the couch so I can look at it?" I carefully set Maddy down on the couch. After what seemed like forever Emma finally spoke. "Maddy its seems you have broken it, I'll call up Dr. Wolfson, I'm sure she came be over soon as possible. . . In the mean time, you two come and have dinner." Emma was about to pick Maddy up, but I quickly protested, "I can get her Mrs. S." As soon as Emma turned around the corner I scooped Maddy up in my arms bridal style. "Rhydian you really don't have to do this, ya now." I smiled down at her, "Of course I do, why wouldn't I?" She was about to protest but I already sat her down in her chair, and me taking the one next to her. As we sat at the dinner table I looked around, on it was; roast beef, turkey, steak, ham, bacon, and meat loaf, all my favorites.

After dinner Dr. Wolfson arrived and said that she was to be wearing a cast until the next full moon and it would heal then. I was supposed to help Maddy at home and school, even though I didn't have to I wanted to. Madds and I went upstairs to her room like usual after dinner every night. Maddy sat on her bed and patted the spot next to her beckoning me to come and sit next to her. "So. . ." She began, "So. . . What?" I teased back with a cheeky smile, "So, since you've been gone me, Shan, and Tom took up a hobby. . . We decided to go to do karaoke at SALLYS it's this new restaurant, that has a stage and everything. . . And we were wondering if you wanted to come, no you are goin to come weather you like it or not, next Saturday, since the full moon is on Friday and I can get this stupid cast off, and not walk around with crouches anymore, I'm pretty sure seven days is enough already." My mouth hung agape in wonderment, "You serious Madds, me singin in front of a bunch of people I don't even know. . ." She gave me the puppy dog eyes, "Please. . . For me?" I let out a sigh in defeat I could never say no to the puppy dog eyes. "That's what I thought I knew you were gonna come anyway, you love me too much to say no." We both burst out laughing, but it soon died down, I hadn't realized we were so close until our lips were about two inches apart. I could feel her warm sweet smelling breath on my face. Our lips lightly brushed against each other, I was so close to kissing the girl of my dreams until we heard a gasp, we both shot back and looked to see Maddy's mum standing in the door way, wide eyed. . . Oh no.
